I would imagine that this would a demo car for American Honda to use at Auto Shows around the country.

Also, with the current VINs coming in at or around 19500, I am guessing the TSX will reach 20,000 by the end of this year. Who's the lucky bastard that gonna get 20,000?

Not really. Like everyone else, I have had rattle problems which seem to have just faded away.

Aside from that not much, maybe some slightly rough seat rails but not more.

Of course that's Canada-series VIN. "pro-rated" with the US volumes, it puts you around #500. Still freakin' early! I have #26xx, built in June, which suggest maybe they built more Cdn cars first?

Doh! I knew I should have waited for the end of December rush.

But seriously, the extra 45 days of driving it was worth it.

Damn, you even have me beat. I thought I had the lowest with #167. #1 is probably in the possession of Honda somewhere. I had #1 for the 2001 cycle of S2000s. I thought i was cool. What a dumbass I was.

Depends if kiteboy is right with his saying that there are two distinct VIN numbers for Canada and the US, then you'd be before me by proportion...

00001 was definately a prototype to test assembly and fit.

00001 is in pieces and likely scraped, 00002 was likely run into a wall and destroyed for federal testing. Well, actually I bet 00001-00015 were all torn down. and the next 20 were likely crash tested. So if you are sub 100, I don't know how that car skipped it's fate of testing.

In reality the first few hundred were all sold in Japan and destroyed long before we even knew what a TSX was. So the US vins may have never even started with 1 for tracking reasons.
