Been searching and it seem most people have the comptech SS

I noticed that the short shifters for the TSX, like the one from Comptech, are more like adapters i.e. not full replacement shifters like I am used to. I put short shifters in both my old Audi's - nuespeed - and they were complete shifters.
Then I saw that Mugen has a complete shifter replacement so my questions are:

1) does the comptech shorten the actual shifter length as well as the throw?
2) The mugen is like $200 + - does anybody have it and is it worth the extra cash?
