So my discs are warped and I make an appointment to go and have them either resurfaced and replaced, my car has 9,000 miles. The hurricanes begin to hit and my grandfather ends up tin the hospital so i can't make the appointment, a month and a half and 5,000 miles later, I drive a lot the, I'm finally able to go when they tell "Well the brakes are covered up to 12,000 miles." Now I can understand rules are rules but in light of 4 hurricanes come on give me a break. Not just that but then he turns around and says "well it's time for scheduled maintanence so if you pay the $200 for me to change your oil and rotate your tires, yeah I'll throw in the front rotors." Basically saying I can brake the rules if I want but either way your losing 200 bucks. So I said screw it and I'll do all of it my self and take my rotors to be resurfaced and spend less than half that.

 

That's the first I've heard of the 12,000 mile limit. Can they back that up with documentation?

 

Yeah, that sounds like bullshit. Call them on it.
Or just go to a different dealer.

There's no such limit. The warranty goes for 48K miles. Period.

 

well brakes might have a different warrenty because its a wear item........ that said i have my front rotors replaced at 13500miles with no questions asked. on the paper work it didn't say warrenty, but it said internal so whatever that means. and my dealer never sad anything about the mods that i have in my car when the took it or when they gave it back......they were really good.......btw its mcgrath acura in morton grove, il.... and my dad (i'm not 21 yet) got a 04 tl for a loaner..... all i gotta say is damn its nice, has torques and pulls nice, very refined, not as sporty as the tsx, but respectible for that kinda car..........

 

I heard that many dealer service centers knew about the rotors warping and were replacing them under warranty...



Guess I may find out some day...

 

i went through the same thing...except not with Acura. I b****ed and complained and called the 800 customer service number, ranted and raved...and finally they gave me new rotors

oh, and same thing with my mom's '03 accord. I read somewhere on the net if you resurface the rotors, they warp quicker, and i proved it to them with documentation and they gave me 2 new rotors and as good faith, new front brakes too. Thumbs up for Pompano Honda.
