Is rust-proofing necessary?

My husband has had his '90 Accord rust-proofed every year at Ziebart. Do these new cars still need rust-proofing?

I'd say yes. I had it oil-sprayed once. Then I do it myself once a year (oil lower parts of the body).

no, it is not needed in modern cars in fact i think you can void your warranty if you do rust proof. some times rust proofing does more harm by clogging up drainage areas and creates areas where pockets of water can collect.
