Rustproofing pros and cons

I need advice about rust-proofing my new TL. I live in the snowbelt where winter roads are salted. On the other hand, we plan to lease the TL for the 3 yr warantee period (yes, it's ony 3 yrs in Canada), and then decide whether to buy the car. How have your TLs held up to rust? Do the holes they need to drill in order to rust-proof compromise the car in any way, or allow water in where it would otherwise never get? How long have those of you who have not rust-proofed your Acura gone before you n
noticed rust spots?

Thanks

Never get "rust proofing" the car is galvanized construction and carries a warranty on not rusting. In general "rust proofing" is just a sham dealers try and sell you like the "protection" packages that are just cheap wax and scotchguard.
