Royal Purple for MTF

I am going to change my MTF soon and was thinking about using Royal Purple. I have RP MTF in my BMW and it made the shifts much better. Has anyone here used RP in their MT? There website shows ( http://www.royalpurple.com/transmission-chart.html) that Acuras uses either their SAE 10W-40 motor oil or their XRP 5W-30 racing motor oil (http://www.royalpurple.com/xpr-racing-oil.html). What do you think?

I don't have an MT.

but I do have an extensive history with Royal Purple.

and I recommend you using it.
you will hear, "use Honda stuff only."

I agree except for Royal Purple. I trust their products.

My 06, bought new 11/17/06, has 62,000+miles. Have not changed the MTF yet. For the driving I do, I was told to change it every 3 years. My car shifts excellent.

We put RP into the RX-8's gearbox. It was VERY thick, unlike Acura/Honda MTF.

Royal Purple isn't suggesting their MTF for the gearbox. They are suggesting 5W30 or 10W40 motor oil which is thinner. I am going to call them to double check their website.

If you are going to try RP engine oil for your gearbox, then you are better off using Honda/Acura's MTF.

I am going to stick with Honda MTF. Are there crush rings on the fill and drain plugs?
