return lease or buy out?

well my lease is close to being up and im pretty low on milage only 24k after almost 3 yrs. i love the car and have a very reasonable payment, the buyout is really good too but i test drove a 328 and loved it! i also like the mdx, awesome interior in that car, but i dont really need an suv and dont wanna pay for gas and get 16mpg and the leas is a bit overpriced in my opinion. i actually like the rl too but way too expensive and ugly front end. like that the new tsx has a v6 but just dont like the car.

with that few miles I would lean for a buy out-My going on 3 year old 06 tsx has 89,000+miles. I do not lease-put on too many miles. No car payments either. Paid it off early.

I would recommend buying out since I work in this field. You have some room for negotiation with your buy out price too. Just know that if you opt out then the car goes on a website for dealers to bid on. I would see if you can drop down the buyout price and see what they offer you. You will be hard pressed to find a low mileage used car, and just think you know the history since you have had it since day one. Just consider BMW maintenance costs before you get rid of the TSX

im pretty sure you cant negotiate the buyout price on a lease. its based on the residual used value when bought new. its a fixed amount, not from dealer but from acura. and bmw has the free maintnence for 4yr/50k, which is pretty nice since theier services are outrageous.

plus if i buy it out im gonna have to get new pads, rotors and tires, which is gonna be like 1000 at least.

You’re really going to have to do the brake and tire replacing soon? My mileage is in the high 70s and I’m still on my original front pads and rotors. (I’ll probably replace ’em in the fall.) I replaced the rear pads and rotors a couple of months ago and the OEM Michelins about a month before that. (The tires probably had about 50,000 miles on ’em – maybe a bit less. I’ve got snow tires on about four months a year.)

That is not much mileage to have to replace those items. I replaced the OEM Michelin tires at 74,000 miles and still have the original brake pads and rotors with 89,000+miles.

Ummm There are no maintenance costs for 4 years 50,000 miles if he buys a new BMW. Not even wiper blades.

I would buy it so long as you aren't tired of the car and see yourself enjoying it for at least 5 more years.

You have really low miles and like ryan said earlier you know the history.

As far as maintenance I have 52k on my 04 and the only maintenance I needed was to replace my front rotors which warped pretty quickly. I attributed this to the heavy traffic I drive in to work every day. Tires are still fine though as well as the pads.

buy out is 17800, it will have about 28k miles by then. plus about 1200 tax and like 900-1000 for tires, pads and rots. so figure bout 20k all together.

Ummm Yea there are maintenance costs. They're part of BMW's overinflated price tag. Like the "free" drinks at a casino, you're still paying for it, just not when you get the drink.

The cost of maintenance for the 4 years/50k miles is included in the purchase price of the vehicle. Afterwards, it skyrockets.
