replacement brakes
Hi,
Can any of you guys recommend any brands in case i want to replace the brake rotors and pads or even the calipers? It would also be nice if the rotors looked really good. I've always liked a nice set of good looking rotors. (like the ones on the porsche). They dont have to brake like a porsche, just improved from the TSX stock and look nice. Also... if i replaced pads and rotors, and since that will probably mean better braking... will that affect any of the skid control that corrects for understeer and oversteer? Does that Acura apply brakes to one individual wheel to correct? well... if there's more braking power than the acura's computer is programmed for, then wont the acura overcompensate? or is it all done by sensors? Like, the brakes compensate a little, and if the sensors dont detect the car going back to no under/oversteer, then the computer applies more brakes to try and correct?
Anyone here looked into upgrading brakes or have done it already? Anyone have any pics?
thanks

One more thing, if you have cross drilled rotors, wont that take away from the braking surface area? and then maybe even decrease brake performance? Since the pad has less area to push against.

Back to your question. You're right about what you've said it decresed the braking surface BUT not that sicnificant. However, these tiny holes increase braking performance by not letter the brake pad heats up too fast. In other words it helps the pads to cool down much faster. it also disrupt the gas that was created by the pads too so there's nothing come in between pads and disk. OH it also helps cleaning the debris on the pads too, say you have burnt you pad it'll get rid of those nasty burnt residuals out of your pads therefore more braking area.
Their downsides are noise and increase wear on the pads.
