Big Ticket Item Missing...Ahem

OK, it's not really "big ticket". It's probably the cheapest ticket item I can think of aside from the spew of trolls.

All three of my previous Hondas--all Accords--arrived with metal tire valve caps.

It's always been a curiousity to see how long it takes for the metal ones to disappear. I can't do that with my factory stock Acura TSX. It came with cheapo plastic ones! and

In fact, the valve caps don't even cover all of the threads. The provided valve caps couldn't be any cheaper.

Did you receive plastic or metal valve caps OTD from the dealership?

I'm wondering if mine were...ahem..."pre-stolen" from the dealership.

The plastic reduces the weight of the car, which helps power and handling.

BTW I always wonder why athletes don't worry about all that jewelry weighing them down. (I would.)

Mine are plastic. And, seriously, I always liked plastic better -- it's kinder to the touch when you handle them.

Ahhh. NOW I understand! Thanks, Larch. Weight reduction. Better gas mileage. I'll keep my plastic ones on.

(Hey, what do the people in the Metric World call gas mileage? Petrol kilometerage? Naw! (I know it's measured in liters per 100 kilometers, but they can't possibly call it "MILEage".)

And I thought I was the only dork who wonders about things like that. But even I never thought of that one.

You know, in the military they say, "Aye aye sir." But what if the commander is a female?

I've heard that what they say is, "Aye aye sir, ma'am." No kidding. (Although that's an old story; maybe they've figured out something better by now.)

Being detailed-oriented, aka anal retentive, is a Good Thing. Ask Martha. I never make apologies for being detailed oriented.

Now, some really bad examples of details come to mind.

Does anyone think body-color matched valve caps would be too much color coordination?

How do you keep the "A" in the wheel hubs lined up and in sync on all four wheels?

Oh nuts! (Forgive me, I've been painting today, and those fumes seem to inspire nutty details!!!)

Has anyone measured the RGB values and the degrees Kelvin of their Xenon headlights? Do the left and right match?

BTW, there are milestones as there are kilometerstones. Take your pick.

These are the ones I have. I bought 5. One for each road wheel and one for the spare.

They only flip when 4lbs low.
