Removing Trim Piece?
Removing Trim Piece?
Anybody know how to remove the trim piece just to the right of the steering wheels that has the round piece in the middle of it for temperature sensing? I am not talking about the little round piece but rather the whole time piece from the steering wheel opening to the heating controls. In my car it is the plood (plastic wood) strip were in others it is the brushed aluminum peice.
It seems like it just pop forward, if I could get behind it.
The reason I want to get it off is that I have a very annoying rattle were it meets the dash. I can make the rattle go away by pressing on it when it rattles.

Im not sure if it is the top or bottom corner of the right side of it closest to the radio, but it should have an indention to allow you to slip a small screwdriver in there to pry it out. Its held in by a couple of clips. You will have to unplug the sensor once you pull the piece off if you want to work on it outside of the car.
I would tape a small screwdriver's tip and slip it under there, pry carefully so you dont snap or crack the plastic, especially in cooler weather.
