What are you going to do with the engine? That is the question.

people normally know the answer to this question when the engines been around for a long time... theres no other way of really knowing.

I think it might be sauceman or one of the other mods though that's racked up some serious miles... maybe he can let us know how 'bullet proof' he found the engine to be.

hondas are normally pretty good

Check with the guys who are swapping the TSX engine and running high boost. They probably have more info on how well the engine is holding up. Then again, the best engine won't stand a chance with user error such as misshift. It can easily ruin the fun.

Never fire any shot at my engine. Don't know how bullet proof it is. If you try please let everyone know the result and the type of firearm you use. Picture will be nice too.

Two weak points of the K-series motors from a mod standpoint:
1. Oil pump - Guys who want to rev to 9000 RPM are either upgrading their stock oil pump or using the S2000 version.
2. 2nd gear - I don't know if this applies to the stock TSX trannies, but the RSX-S tranny definately get a whole lot of failures when people start pushing more power.

not sure about reliability

I'm not sure about the engine reliability, I have 100,000+ miles on my '04 TSX, Check engine and VSA ! lights have been on for the past 5-10,000 miles, they can't seem to find the problem. I can't go more than 3,000 miles without adding a quart or 2 of oil. My radio malfunctioned and I don't have any lights on the mid console-I need a new radio at $1,680. Also, I've gone through brakes and tires faster on this car then any other. I've put $1,500 in may car since May and my check engine and VSA lights are still on, I haven't even replaced the radio yet. I love my car but I'm nervous. Anyone else having problems or do I just have a Monday car?

The K24 is junk dude. Run like hell.

Oh, and BTW, this forum is loaded with info covering about every known problem the TSX has had. A quick search will usually answer any questions you have.
