Rear deck speakers quiet/dead

I just discovered that my rear deck speakers are all quiet when i run the stereo. Sound does come from the front speakers and from the speakers on the rear doors. However, the rear deck speakers seem to be all quiet. I checked in the trunk...and they are connected just fine.

I just got the car yesterday and i am still learning everything about it. Can these rear deck speakers be disabled somehow from the headunit or i need to tell the dealer to fix them under warranty? Am i missing something basic? Are these speakers or woofers ??
The stereo and the Navi function fine, as far as i can tell.

They are speakers. Check the connection from the trunk...make sure they're connected. Also, double check the fader is in the middle. If everything looks the way it should...take it to the dealer.

check the fade, mess with the actual audio controls, if that does not work(assuming you checked the connection on the speakers) id just call the dealership, the speakers are probably not getting any signal and something has gone wrong with the connection.
the chance that both of the rear speakers were damaged in a way that no sound would come out of them is low, and even if they were damaged or blown they could still make sound, just would be distorted and not that loud.

The rear deck 6x9 speakers are utilized like subwoofers. The crossovers in the amplifier send only low frequency signals to the 6x9s. So, you won't hear full range sound from them, only the lows. If you casually listen for "music" to come from them you may be fooled into thinking that they aren't working. Turn up the system a bit and get your ear near them to see if they are actually putting anything out.
