Questions From A New Guy

Hi All! New to the site, not new to Acuras. Always been pleased with the ones I've owned and the service I received from the dealer, which seems to make me an oddity on the site. Anyway, does anyone know why "TSX" is imprinted on the bottom side of the factory spoiler? Also, is there an easy way to connect the third brake light in the car so it lights up along with the led spoiler lights? Thanks

not sure if it can be connected but when my dealer fitted my spoiler I asked the mechanic and he said you could only legally have 1 extra brake light not 2.

Soopa: Yep, NE Acura. Never had a problem, always fixed everything the first time. Always a new loaner if necessary. There once was an a**hole service manager some years ago but he's long gone. Salesperson intervened and that guy was gone.

Ernie: mechanic said the same thing to me but I figured someone here might be able to help. My old CL had both connected, maybe the law changed?

Welcome KAB'S TSX. I've had pretty good service from my dealer, so it's not that rare. Best explanation for the TSX imprint that I've come across is they do it to make the knockoffs easier to spot (repro not likely to have the imprint), but who knows? It does seem odd.

Yeah...I think I've heard it's there for authenticity. Kind of an interesting detail...

BTW--welcome KAB'S

Welcome KAB'S TSX! Nice to see a new TSX owner in Albany. I don't have a spoiler, but I'd be more than happy to try and help. Is there any wiring for the rear deck brake light?

I couldn't find any law that states having more than one 3rd brake light is illegal. I copied and pasted the laws pertaining to brake lights in NY:

40. Stop lamps. (a) Every motor vehicle, except a motorcycle, operated
or driven upon the public highways of the state, if manufactured prior
to January first, nineteen hundred fifty-two, shall be equipped with at
least one stop lamp which shall display a red to amber light visible at
least five hundred feet from the rear of the vehicle when the brake of
such vehicle is applied.
(b) Every motor vehicle, except a motorcycle, operated or driven upon
the public highways of the state, if manufactured on or after January
first, nineteen hundred fifty-two, shall be equipped with at least two
stop lamps, one on each side, each of which shall display a red to amber
light visible at least five hundred feet from the rear of the vehicle
when the brake of such vehicle is applied.

Thanks! The wiring is there, it looks like all I would need is an adapter of some kind running from the spoiler wiring. But after looking at the instructions for installing the spoiler, specifically the wiring part, I think I'll let well enough alone.
I presume you bought yours @ NE Acura, too? Any issues?

Yup, I bought my TSX at NE Acura. The only problem was with registration, but that was my insurance company's fault. So far everything has been great. I am a little concerned about some chips that I have on my hood already (just 2 small ones), and one on the unders side of my drivers door (most likely from rocks/pebbles on the highway with all the construction). I'm thinking I may buy the clear bra protection kit for the bumper, hood, and mirrors.

That spells class to me. On a side note, I've always loved how "Integra" is imprinted on the front bumper.
