since 04 used car prices havent been released i wanted to know if any of you guys had any clue....im thinking around 24000 would be a good price...

with 10k miles on it..........CHRIST thats a high price for it...........actually i would say somewhere in the 23000's would be fair.........I was offered by a dealer 25500 for a NEW one with 0 miles on it!!!!! the MOMENT it is driven off the lot you can take $2000 off of it, so you are at 23500.....so get something at or under 23000.....

Dude...that's only $505 less than I bought mine (wanted CG, settled for NHB (both w/navi), NEW, with only 31 miles on it. I don't know what the appropriate price should be, but I know that's just not right.

You gotta ask yourself why someone would sell such a car, and more importantly, why it has so many miles on it? I know personally, my TSX is gonna be racking up the miles (roughly 3-4k/month), mostly highway. But still...barring any major faux pas on Acura's part (shitty components that don't show up for 15k miles) I can't see myself saying "bye!" to this beaut.

On a related note, why buy used when you can buy new for practically the same price?

bgillette (and any others); My wife is "jealous" of my new car (we have a competitive yet healthy relationship), and since I'm on business for 4 weeks (2 down, 2 to go) she's been enjoying my car. She told me tonight that she went on KBB.com, and my car has a trade-in value of $35k. I know kbb artifically inflates the values to get the seller's hopes up, but come on...it can't be THAT big of a difference!

trade in of 35k? you mean in USA BUCKS???? thats impossible ...think about it, that would mean a USED CAR is worth more than a new one.....a USED CAR INCREASES IN VALUE......

This is typical of higher-end Japanese vehicles. Before I laid eyes on the TSX, I was looking at IS300, GS300, etc.

Even with a couple of years and several 10's of thousands of miles on them, the price reduction for used did not, in my opinion, cover the cost of finding one in a condition I could live with with the options and things I wanted.

If you want a bargain on gently used, look at the marques with less stellar reliability: American, Audi, Jag, BMW. Some real deals can be had on X-types, Land Rovers, and Volvos.

Please do yourself a huge favor and do NOT buy an x-type! I traded mine in for the TSX. Ever since Ford took over Jaguar, the quality went down the drain...... It had a problem every other week. I actually spent more time in a loaner jag than my own bc mine was getting serviced every other week! Do urself a favor and do not get a jaguar x-type. Now for the used tsx, i think you might as well just buy a brand new one for 2k more. I just can't see myself buying a used tsx w/ 10k miles to save 2K $$$$. And from a slightly different perspective, I don't think the dealer will budge much bc we are still in 2004 and the TSX is a very popular car. So if u are not into paying 27k for it (which would be crazy), I'm sure the dealer will find someone who hasnt done their research on the car to pay the 27K! Good luck.

Good to hear about the X-type. I was considering one for 24k with 3.0V6 a year old with <10k mi.
But I think Jag's quality sucked long before FMC came on the scene. And apparently, FMC hasn't beat it out of them.

I went to look at a G35 prior to purchasing, sat in it, and told the guy it was just too small. He showed me a used TSX they had on the lot, and it fit like a glove...guess what they wanted for it with 5k miles? Wait for it...wait for it...$34,500! HAHAAHA, I laughed all the way out the door.

Asking price and what you can talk them down to are two different thinks. I believe a new tsx w/ navi is about $2700-$27500 so I would think $25k-$25500 would be a ok price for a used one since there aren't very many being sold used. According to acura.com there was only 1 tsx within 100 miles of where I live.

apparently an 80yr old guy traded in his camry and tsx for a new avalon so thas how they got the car on the lot.

reason im looking at used is so that I can save myself some money plus this is the color combo i love plus it has navi/fogs....

DAMN car is still sitting on the lot...im thinking if 25000 even would be a good price to offer them...last price i got from them was 25900..

BASED ON WHAT? I love it when people just throw a number out there with nothing to back it up. If you go to a dealer, you still need to give a good reason why you think you should get a used car for the price your asking for. This way, they know you did your homework and you might have a better chance of pulling it off. For instance, if you said I want it for this price because XYZ dealer was selling a similar car for that price. Something like that.

Yea, thats pretty decent. I paid 27100, but Cali sales tax is a bitch, so it ended up being 29500 OTD. Still happy with that though.

as you would have read on my post above, the dealer took in my trade in for $23K with less than 3,000 miles on it and it is already paid off, so with the other car with 10,000 miles they would have taken it around $20k and spend like $1k to put it the lot so the dealers cost is around $21K, the car is been sitting on their lot for a month now than means money lying around in their lot.

you can get a brand new for $28,800, AT w/ navi, and some people here are saying that they were able to get it lower than that

I wouldn't pay more than 20-21K for a 2004 TSX (no navi) with 10-15K miles...the way used car prices are now a days. Offer 18500 and work up from there......

Based on a lot of things...

If you had a used car for sale, you would see how bad the market is. With low financing and dealer incentives everyone is buying new. If you were in the market to buy a used car, you would see the same stuff listed month after month.

a 2004 TSX is model yr old and USED with 10K miles. A 6 speed with no navi can be bought for around 25K new. Take 20 cents a mile as a basis and that equals a discount of 2K below that for a NEW one. Or use your lease payments as an indication. Say a lease is 1000 down anad 340 a month for 4 yrs. After one yr (in the milage allotment) take 1/4 of the downpayment and one yr of payments off the new value. 200 bucks + 4080. Again this car is prob worth around 20-21K and thats all I would pay for it....anything more than that you are overpaying and will take too big a hit when you go to sell it, just buy new.....
