Question about OEM body kit

I am a soon to be owner of an 06 CGP TSX (May or June) and I have been perusing the forums looking at the body kits, wheels, and other mods people have. Call me blind, but so far I can't really see a difference between the stock 06 TSX and one with an OEM body kit I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how the OEM kit makes it look any different from stock.

Thanks in advance :p

There's a pretty large difference, particularly the front lip. It's much more formed and aggressive. The rear lip's noticable too. OEM bodykit side skirts aren't terribly noticable on any year TSX. Maybe you've been looking at the wrong pictures...

yah the kit is a lip kit
so dont expect the shape of the bumpers to change dramatically but they do look more agressive

It's always looked like a pretty small difference to me. Kind of like the Euro R kit. If I don't look close I usually miss it.

I like the look of the OEM body kit, but I'll have to agree that the differences between the stock and A-spec side skirts are very minimal. I would still get the kit though. It just looks nice with it.

04/05 bodykit makes a bigger difference than 06+ in my opinion. Euro R kit is even more subtle than A-Spec, but for that reason, very attractive in my opinion.

I am thinking I will probably get the Euro R kit. I really like the front of the Euro R

Man, what a topic of debate inside of me.

I just can't come to any decision of body or lip kits.

FOR ME:

OEM kit: Cheap! but I don't like the back, or the front so much...
Mugen lips: Expensive for sure! but I don't like any of it really.
Mugen full: Very Expensive! don't like it though.
Kenstyle: Does not fit an '08, not painted, don't really like grill anyway.
Euro R: Front is very subtle, like it. Sides are whatever, don't care for the back...

I'm about out of options here.
I don't really like any of the kits out there.
The Euro R is a very subtle front, just kind of lowers the bumper some.
The side skirts for it are whatever, plain, okay looking. Don't like the back.

I'm dropping my car very soon (as soon as my Tein SS's arrive) and then slapping
some nice AME rims on it, so I'll need something....

I wish we had more options out there.

I can get an OEM kit painted and shipped to me direct from the factory for $860,
I just can't talk myself into it though...

I'll stop blabbing now...

Well there are 3 more kits I didn't see you mention: Buddy Club, JP, and...dare I say it...Raven. These kits are rarely seen/mentioned do the fact not everyone finds them appealing. I know a parts site that sells them all on the cheap, but that's because they're replicas of course. If you want the link just PM me.

I see in your sig that you also got the 3 ring halos for your JDM headlights. I can't wait to see pics of that

They're at AAC right now being installed.
I'm wiring them to their own harness which will run to the dash where
I'll install a OEM foglight button to control the Halo kit independently.
That way I don't have to have other lights on to have them on,
and also I can turn them on and off whenever I want that way.
In just about a week I'll have them back and installed on the car.

Buddy Club kit huh?
I've seen the others and don't care to much for them.

I'm going for a stock look...
that isn't stock.

If someone has never seen a TSX before, or only a couple of times, I want
them, when they look at my car, to think it's quite possibly stock.

I don't want a kit with a radical design, same goes for the wheels.
I won't be tucking my wheels by using camber kits or putting stickers on
my car, none of that sort of thing. No wings or carbon fiber.

It's probably going to end up being the Euro R kit, but I'll probably be
kit-less for a while debating over it with myself.

But in case this is new to anybody, anybody can get an OEM kit, any year,
factory painted, from a dealership, shipped in the US, for $860.

I have the same plan, hooking up my angel eyes to a fog light switch I don't really want them hooked up to the parking lights, so the fog light switch is the only way to go for me

Sounds like you should mix and match your pieces, for example go with the Euro R front since you like it better than the oem lip, oem sides and back. The pieces match fine. I always thought that the OEM kit was nice on an 06 but the Euro R stands out more to me, what I've always looked hot was the Mugen grill with either of the two lips, brings out the front end more.

Here are some pics of my MY06 Australian Euro Luxury (similar to your TSX) have a look and see if you like the OEM Modulo Kit. I like it a lot and think it makes quite a difference to the appearance.

Here's my response from another thread (https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...899#post764899):

I think it's because most of the people who post pictures have a black TSX. On a PWP, you'll notice it a bit more. For example, the foglight housing is black to try to make it look as if the foglight is mounted in an open area (stock it's body-colored, so you can see it).

The rear basically moves the red reflectors so that it's even with the rear bumper.

I have my eyes on the Euro-R kit...the front is more noticeable.
