purchase advice
hey, im looking for some advice from the tsx ins/outs experts...it is a theft title...so it is a 2004 tsx, 53k miles, automatic, body is perfect, interior a couple scratches, good leather, runs awesome (according to me anyway coming off a 91 toyota pickup and 00 civic...), but the issue is the theft came from someone stealing the navigation unit in the trunk and the screen/console for it. The guy replaced the screen so everything up front looks normal but the wires in back are not connected, the unit in the back was cut out (I read more about the unit itself after looking at the car so i didnt look to see if it was just unplugged or actually cut, not sure if it matters though). From this forum I have priced the unit itself to be anywhere from 400-700 but im not sure about the labor to hook it all up. I need to give this guy an answer fairly soon and dont want to be stuck with a labor bill of over 1000 dollars like the acura dealership said (but they have to do it "by the book" i guess). sorry for the long post but based on what I have said so far could you see this hookup being to difficult? or is acura just jacking the price up like they do the parts...? why couldnt I just cut the wires and connect them like a stereo? Im getting the car for 12 thousand and want to spend about 600 on the nav unit and 400 on hooking it all up (including the wire harness etc), is this reasonable or would you say stay away from the car due to the potential extreme problems? (btw im getting a used car check over done from the dealership so the electrical is all im concerned about) appreciate your expertise
