1. Inspect the car before handing over the key
2. Review any policies that the valet company may have regarding damage
3. Tell the valet how important your car is to you
4. Tip him/her well when you return
5. Reinspect the car before driving off and report all damage to the valet immediately, if there is any

One other thing

However, I would note that:

(a) the valet may not have any policies for review; and

(b) tipping well prior to handing over you car keys is always a good idea.

Personally, I never valet. That being said, I worked as a valet when I was younger, and I can tell you that a good tip prior to parking generally ensures that the valet will take his/her time, with the expectation that you will also tip well when you come back to pick up your car.

Navi will work with the valet key. Just be sure to set up a PIN number for your personal addresses and home address if you are using that feature in your navi.

I use "User 1" for personal addresses with a pin code and "User 2" without a pin code is for favorites like restaurants and bars. (You can also use the voice command to enter your pin code).

Viking,
That is good advice on about using PINs.I think it is useful other situations also, not just limited to vallet parking.

Perhaps... however, it seems to me that they would be less likely to try anything if they knew you would be checking for damage and added miles later...

I've only had to use a valet once since I've had my TSX, and I didn't have to worry at all. When I pulled up to the door, the valet and I had a good 10 minute conversation about the TSX. I received many compliments that night

Or do what I do, just don't use valet service. Afterall, do you really trust handing your keys over to a complete stranger?
