Potential TSX Owner

I'm in the market for a new car. I recently stumbled upon a 2005 Acura TSX with Navi, auto, with only 28000 miles!

The guy is asking $14900. I haven't gone to test drive the car or check it out yet. I'm just looking at the price & Miles and that seems to be a hell of a deal.

What do you guys think? Anything I should look for or pay more attention to when I do go test drive?

Thanks

I just bought a 2005 auto, non-navi with 46k miles (75k kms) for 17k in Toronto. Car was in mint condition and in white (which was hard to find used).

I know the prices are much lower in the states and I paid a premium becuase the car was in excellent condition with no scratches on the body (was owned by a Honda tech's wife).

Seems like a great deal. Would do a test drive and get a detailed check done at the mechanics. Take the car out at high speeds, make sure the AC and all door locks and window motors work fine, check the rims for any damage, leaks etc..

Good luck!

I think that's high by at least $2K. You should be able to find an 06, maybe even an 07 (with all the mid-gen upgrades) for the same or a little more, though maybe with a few more miles. The 05 won't have a warranty, though most likely an 06 won't either (an 07 might though), so the mileage doesn't matter in that respect. The low miles are a nice bonus, but there's no getting around the fact that the car is 6 years old. And the mileage is not really as critical on the TSX as it might be on a different car. And since I have a 05 with over 140K miles...... my opinion is that buying a car with a few more miles wouldn't hurt. Sounds like a nice car, but I think you can do better.

I'm slightly in agreement with my fellow member. Try to find a 07. If you match the hp with the 06 way of rating power its a 10-15hp gain even though on paper its 5hp. I also am found of the 07's body vs 06. My mom had a 04 TSX back in 04. The TSX is an awesome car. The K24 makes good power especially when/if you add the Hondata ECU to it. On the 06 the last year they did ecu upgrade, for $295 you gain 28hp/24tq and redline jumps nfrom 7100rpm to 7600rpm its a great add-on piece so I say take a serious look at the 06.

Hondata info...

Just a correction...

The numerous mid-gen upgrades that Simba is referring to happened in 06, not 07. (The only change in 07 was tire the pressure babysitter.)

And the body changes ParaSurfer mentioned happened in 06, too. (Fog lights added, new front and rear bumpers, side skirts, new tail lights and headlights, etc.)

Huh? 07-08 had these changes. My mom had an 06 TL and it def looked like the 04-05.

Here are pix of my moms 06 TL-P...

Ummm..... maybe you misunderstood me, but that's what I wrote "You should be able to find an 06 or even an 07 (with all the mid-gen upgrades) for the same or a little more.....".

Sorry, apparently I did. Your use of parenthesis after "even an 07" implies that it only applied to that year.

I would have put that statement after the 06, (knowing most people would assume any car after 06 would have them too), or said, "both with mid-gen upgrades".

Again, my apologies.
