Plug GPS Navigator into XM Antenna?

Dumb question. I have a 2005 5at w/o Nav. Hated the controls and didn't want to pay an extra 2 grand for something I didn't like. I'm thinking about getting a GSP navigator of some sort for my partner because she travels sometimes on business and it would be very helpful to her to have a unit in her rental.

I am wondering about using it in the TSX for long trips. Can the XM antenna somehow be used for a portable GPS navigation system? Hate the thought putting it on the dash, thinking maybe on the center counsel but that wouldn't allow line of sight for the satelites.

Thanks in advance. Always great to have a place to ask the dumb, ok really dumb, questions.

No. Unfortunately it wouldn't be possible. the GPS and XM antenna are getting the signals from completely different satellites. I have the GPS Antenna for my aftermarket deck on the front right side of the windshield. I get great reception there, and have never had problems.
Just put it there and everything will be fine. Just make sure to secure it to the dash somehow so it doesn't fly around during driving. If you're going to move the antenna a lot you can use Velcro.
