PCV Valve questoins
PCV Valve questoins
Gonna do an oil change soon and I want to clean the PCV valve at the same time, and I need to clarify on some information
1. Where is it exactly located? I think it's above the alternator like in this pic

2. To access it, I'd have to take off the Vtec cover, remove hose and clamps, and use a 17mm to remove the actual valve?
3. To reinstall, there's a washer to replace as well (same as oil washer)? And what are the torque specs for reinstalling?
Thanks for any help!

PCV valves very rarely fail. If stuck open, you may get high idle when cold. If stuck closed, you will get oil vapor pulled into the PCV air intake on the air inlet duct. Lots of oily nasty on the duct and throttle plate.
Generally, if it rattles it's fine. Clean w/ a little throttle body cleaner and you're good to go.
good luck
