PCB Issue - Replacing the Headunit?

Hey all,
I recently bought an 04 TSX with apparently the common PCB failure. I've been reading all of the threads and found a lot of great information, but 1 thing that I haven't found answer to is this:

1) If the PCB is located in the Radio Head unit, what happens when you replace the HU? Do the Temp control buttons no longer light up?

I've been playing with the idea of upgrading to a Multimedia unit possibly with Navigation to gain the blue tooth capabilities, navi, touch screen, etc...but if I do so do the other lights no longer work?

I'm guessing I'm missing something here, any help would be appreciated!

Sorry no one has replied to you on this yet. I too have this issue and I'm a little sad that the 1G TSX forums are so dead. Anyway, the problem is common and there is a fix but its spotty if you're DIYing. There are a few threads on TSX club and on here on what the problem is and how to fix it or have acura order you the part. You would think by no there would be a definite fix for our 10 year old cars by now.. its like no one even cared.
