Is anybody else that joins the channel getting spammed with messages from people who just like to join the channel and send out stupid messages? They are not joining the channel to talk about anything, so I was thinking that if we put the password in the thread at the top of this forum, and set it up that way, maybe we would get less kiddies jumping into the channel to spam us.

Thoughts, ideas, stupid of me to think this?

 

What we need is a bot that takes password and +v people.

 

Yes we do...maybe I can get my friend to set one up. Anybody up for that? He runs bots on other IRC networks, and has the computer that's always connected to run it on...would that be kosher?

yeah those are what ops are for. Currently me soopa and prov. Ill op another person or two tomorrow from work that are inther eall the time

 

Personally, I think that if you just add a password to the channel (like "tsx" or something easy) then that would deter a lot of people from joining the channel and then spamming the people that are in the channel with personal messages.

Just my opinion though. Because they normally join, then they spam a couple of people and they leave before you realize what is going on.
