PASSPORT 8500 x50 HARDWIRE
Hello,
i know there are already allot of posts on the hardwiring.
But can you guys upload pics of your setup, to see which location is best.
What is a simple way to hardwire for a newbie, or is it best left to proffesional?
AJ.

i mounted mine sorta behind the rear view mirror on the right side. That way, when i look at my rear view mirror, all that i see of it is the front display.
I tapped into the power supply of the auto-dimming mirror and just cut up some silver phone cord i had around the house, looks pretty good

Three Wheelin'
I just hard wired mine into the fuse panel, and ran the wire through the driver side window channel . I have mine mounted to the sun visor. Great location and is hiding.

Sorry, it wasn't an 8500. It was a Valentine One.

If you dont plan on utilizing the little 'remote button and LED' thats on the plug itself, learn from my mistake, if you want to extend it, just get a phone extention cord and then cut the wires towards the middle, not towards the actual cigarette lighter adapter (incase you ever want to convert it back to normal)

Yea but theres a mute button on the blue screen.
Its alot better becasue you can't see it from the windows only the front of course, sometimes cops will be fooled.
