Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) adds side-slip control to the ABS and traction control. It works by controlling brake pressure, engine power or both to help maintain traction. Even if you take no action, VSA will reduce engine power and/or apply the brakes to reduce front or rear side-slip.

basically if its coming on more, you should probably drive a little more in control.

VSA light should only come on either when there is loss of traction or if the VSA is turned off. So unless you're driving like a maniac and forcing the VSA to engage, or turning the VSA off, you might wanna take the car to a dealer to have it looked at.

Do you think you might be accidently hitting it and disabling VSA?

When it goes on, does it stay on until the next time you turn the ignition off and then on?

Yep it does. I think that's a cool feature too

Where are you from?

In the US, when the parking brake is applied it is shown with "BRAKE" in the instrument cluster.

Outside of US, (correct me if I am wrong) when the parking brake is applied, it looks like this: (!)

...The VSA Activation Indicator is the exclamation point within the triangle.

On page 60 of the Owner's Manual it states:
"If the indicator remains lit after you have fully released the parking brake while the engine is running, or if it comes on while driving, it can indiate a problem in the brake system."

yes it stays on until I turn off my ignition. We had some rain recently..and the road may have been slick..so that's what probably caused it..

Really? I did that once and just noticed it was on so took the brake off,....no alarm. I caught it right away, so maybe I had to move a bit more before anything happened. Does it alarm for AT and MT? Mine is MT.

Does it stay on even if you are at a complete stop?
