I had the car jacked up when I was painting the calipers, and I noticed where the filter is located, I immediately thought what a pain!! So I'm guessing you changed yours?

When again is the first scheduled oil change?

I changed mine at 3400K and the oil was really dirty.

put new oil in... run your car for about 10 minutes... drain the oil... and guess what... it will look dirty. it's a natural transition of color that the oil takes on.

thanks.............anywayz i was just tryin' to point out that the oil was pretty freakin' dirty for a car that the company claims it can go 7K + miles per oil change. The car ran much smoother and was more responsive after the change.

Delray Acura does the same thing. I'll bring it to them at 4k miles for the first change. I'll see what they charge for it and get the details of what kind of oil, etc.. then decide if I want to go back for my next oil changes.

I've gotta start driving more, or it'll be 2004 before I need my first oil change!

probably has more to do with the fact that your car is finally finishing the break in period and less to do with the oil change. if you use mobil 1, or some other pure synthetic oil then i would go with the owner's manual recommendation of oil changes. non synthetic oils, i would go half the distance before changing.

Since the 3rd generation Accords--what I mean are the 86-89 series--, the oil filters have been a royal pain to change. I change my oil and filter every 2500 miles. I don't know if the sense is real or psychological, but the motor always seem to purr extra nicely after an oil change.

My dealership does it for free the first 2 times and will offer a 3rd free if you attend a new owner's clinic.

By the way, I just went to the dealership to change oil and filter at exactly 5K miles. The car runs a little smoother and I noticed that the brakes feel stronger.

I had Ed Voyles here in Atlanta change my oil at 4500 miles. I think this is a good round number as I tend to drive quite a bit, so I'll get it changed no later than 5000 miles. They only charged me 23.99 for the oil change, which is cheaper than any other place out there (like Jiffy Lube and what not). Plus, I just feel a little more comfortable with them doing it...and normally it's time for other maintenance on the scheduled maintenance book as well, so i can get it all done with one stop into the dealership.

the oil suppose to be dirty because good oil will keep particle away from engines and keep them suspend... bad oil do nothing, and good oil lubricate and cleaning........ is removing oil filter harder then 94-2002 accord?
