I'm glad I found a guy secure enough that when he bought his first manual, *I* taught him how to drive it! (and I was happy when he later bought the WRX, and he when I got the TSX as if we need to switch cars, neither will be too upset

the way i see it, is that mostly the older ladies are driving bone stock tsx. there are few of us on the boards that fit into either category, so why worry? i feel like i've set my tsx apart from the "herd" enough with the exterior mods i've made

Actually since my other car is a testosterone-heavy old Jeep, I couldn't care less if my TSX is a chick car. As long as ladies feel nice in it, I'm good. (I had some complaints about the 20 year old Jeep -- noisy, stiff ride, cold, fun and rambunctious but not appropriate for evenings out.) If it's a magnet (I've heard a couple of "nice car" statements),

My wife actualy talked me into getting the TSX over an RSX, the conversation happened just after we saw a petit fashionable asian woman driving by in one looking real classy, she said "I like those!" and I was like "ya, it's probably a lot more comfortable on a long drive than an RSX." It all makes sense now.

I know this is an old thread, but on the road thats how it is for most Acuras. Most TSX, TL, RL, and CL drivers are women... and I hardly ever see RDXs on the road so I can't comment. Its nothing really, unless you drive a flamboyantly feminine ride like a VW Beetle or Audi TT. :gheylaugh:

^^There's a distinction to be made here. The TSX, TL, CL, RL, and RDX are driven by 50% females, give or take a few % points. But they aren't obviously feminine.
However, they are not girlie cars. There are obviously feminine cars. The Lexus SC is a girl's car. The Miata, as good as a drivers car it is, is pretty feminine. Any VW convertible is pretty girly.

This is a girly car. And you'd have to seriously mod your TSX to get this (including all the hidden beauty salon gadgetry).

im not going to read all te 6 pages..just my 2cents. but i think the reason why we see more female drivers at time then males are because i think women look for how "pretty" the car is and all the nifty things here and there with a good mpg. and for guys, for the price range, they go for more power than looks or features...thats just my opinion.

I never said the TSX was a girly car. ![Dunno](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif)
I just made note of my observations which many of you also find true too, probably. And just because more men drive it than women do doesn't make it not girly. See: Porsche Boxster
You silly TSX owners.... so defensive.

This is just a crazy thread. Anyway, I bought the TSX because of $, interior, fuel economy, handling, and Honda/Acura loyalty. To be honest, I wasn't even looking at the TSX. I looked at the Subaru Legacy GT, Nissan Altima, Mazda 6, and Infinity G35. A friend of mine said hey, check out the TSX while we were looking....so I sat in one and bam, I was sold.
Now my problem is trying to keep my wife out of my car. She has an '07 Scion tC and likes it, but admits the TSX is by far the better car. Looking at the big picture, we will probably keep the TSX and replace the Scion when we get our next car.
So, is it a girl car? No. Do a lot of women have great taste, appreciate the finer things, and know a great deal for the money....YEP.

I bought the car to replace my TL and took into consideration the MPG. My wife uses the TSX as her primary vehicle. At least its a cool ass car riding on coilovers & wheels.
I had to post something to get lost around page 6 or so.
happy holiday's to all acuraziner's 2007.

No, TSX is not a chick car. It's just not a hairy-chest-thumping, ball-grabbing, sweaty-armpit, fartin-and-burpin, wifebeater-tee-shirt-wearing, ego-driven, penis-extending, macho guy car. So it ain't got a HEMI. That's not a bad thing.

6MT or Death
An important question to ask is what makes a chick car a chick car? Most people in here feel that a car is a chick car if it's driven by more women than men. I personally feel a chick car has an obvious feminine design and could be described as "girly" (early rav4, jetta, del sol, cl, miata, vw bug, etc.). Again all those cars mentioned are cars I find to be cutesy and girly, NOT to say that no man should ever drive them or that my opinions is fact.
When I look at the TSX it doesn't look feminine to me it's looks very chunky and full. I don't think it's "manly" or "girly". Just classy. Like Ron Burgundy, but without the mustache.

The overwhelming number of people I've seen driving TSXs are males in San Antonio. These guys tend to be younger, maybe 20s to 40ish. I do see some chicks driving it. I definitely never thought of it as a "chick car."
My impression of the TSX was a car for young professionals or those just out of college with somewhat of a budjet who are looking for something more refined than the already stellar Accord.
I have an 05 TL, so I guess you can say I'm more objective.
