NEW TSX Roof Rack

I purchased the Honda Accord roof rack from HandA Accessories and its awesome. It fits perfectly onto the TSX roof yet it is not advertised as an accessory to the TSX. Possibly because the sale of the Honda rack is not that much and creating a badge for the Acura would be too costly. Anyways I thought I would let people know that it fits and I was the first to take the chance. I will post pictures soon.

Oh man...that's a huge "no-no" for me. I could never put a roof rack on any vehicle that wasn't meant for off-road!

Hey, Spatel. I look fwd to seeing pix of that rack. [the car, not the girlfriend...] Do you bike? Did you get the rack for hauling bikes? Dealer installed? Removable? Did you consider Thule and Yakima?

How would you travel with skis/snowboards if you need the backseat? You're forced to get a roof rack in that case.

Either he doesn't do these things, has another vehicle to transport them, or goes in someone else's vehicle.

Or you could utilize the fold down seats with your messy skis/board in a bag, like I plan to do as soon as ski season starts.

EDIT: Ok, ok, my bad... you said "if you need the back seat." I guess I only plan to bring two passengers on my hypothetical ski trip. Or I'd just use my Jeep.

Here is an easy cheap and paint safe way to carry 2 bikes. I am looking at this since I can't get a hitch to use with my sportworks rack.

Cheaper than a roof rack and way easier to install and remove from the car.

i have used trunk mount racks and they are not paint safe. i think a roof rack is a better option (although more expensive)

I have had Thule racks on my cars for about 6 years and i have never had a problem with scratching. the rubber feet have left a few marks, but they buff out after a wax.

I have since convinced my g/f to keep the rack on her car (Mazda3) just to keep things safe.

Check out the product and it is as paint safe as they come. Roof Racks are hardly easy on paint and I've seen racks installed correctly leave the roof of a car at 80 mph and leave dents in the car and the bikes pretty messed up. Roof racks just look silly on a TSX anyway.

I won't ever use a roof rack if I can help it. Best rack hands down is a Sportworks Tranport Rack. Thule now owns the sportworks company.

Ive used both roof and trunk racks and the trunk rack left me with a loose, rattly trunk from all the tension. I prefer roof racks myself for long term use, but they are much, much harder to use when your under 6' tall

Someone hit me and I got the body shop to replace the skirts with the oem aero kit skirts. I havent had the time or the willingness to spend 600 on the rest of the kit. i will eventually finish it off.

it doesnt scratch at all b/c i hardly ever take it off. the rubber feet prevent scratches. also i put felt on the inside of the brackets to prevent scratches.

YOU LOOK SILLY YOU JOKE! First of all the way this thing is mounted and constructed the chance of this thing flying off is 0 to none. Bikes fly off the trunk racks more easily than the roof rack. As for paint my b-in-law has a trunk rack and he has scratched the trunk up horribly and not a singe scratch on my car. I use the bike portion weekly.

I had a Yakima roof rack for 8 years on my 4Runner, and when I sold it, there wasn't even the slightest mark on the roof. This was a real roof rack, not one of those that uses the Toyota rails.

I also drove 1200 miles in two days at speeds from 70 to 100mph with three bikes on top. The rack had no problems at all.

Of all my racing buddies and teamates for the last 15 years who have roof racks, nobody's had any problems or scratches with them (except the guy who drove into his garage with a bike on top -- he now has a mirror above his garage door to show the top of his car).

Sorry to resurrect an old arse thread, but was looking to pick up a roof rack for next year after dealing with my 2nd winter of stuffing my boards into my trunk with the backseats down...

Since the Accord rack doesn't come with a faring, how's the noise with it? Do you ever exceed 70mph with the rack on (and loaded)? I'm torn between going OEM vs. getting a Yakima.
