What does that even mean? Personally I'm happy the US market finally got the smaller and sportier european designed accord. We aren't talking about a limited production car here...the 3 seires is BMWs bread and butter. There is no technology in the bmw that should make it more expensive to maintain because that technology in there ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BREAK If I was thinking about spending 34k for a 325 I think I would more likely get a new tl or g35 and pocket the extra money(not to mention get more features) I think the fact that we even compare a 26k tsx to a 34k bmw is a testament to what a great package the tsx is

The fact remains while the new 3 has a lot going for it reliability and pricing isn't one of them.

(I was on a business trip to Vegas so I was in a rental Corolla). I sped up just a little to keep her from upshifting and I could hear the engine purr as the revs went up. I like the wider look. The old ones looked more rounded but the new one seems wider and lower. The rear could have been better but it didn't bother me that much.
I also saw a black 330i a couple of days ago.

At first sight I thought "damn, the wheels look really small". After a few minutes of staring at it it didn't seem too bad.

Still, the car could really use 18" wheels and even then, the wheel wells just seem a bit too small for my taste, compared to the rather hefty back section. The older 3-series wheel wells seemed just right, but in this one it's like they grew the whole body but the wheel wells stayed the same. It just didn't seem quite right. TSX wheel wells are much larger.

I guess I like the font and the back is ok, the car is nice overall. Can't say I'm in love or anything but I don't hate it, I guess Bangle has lowered the bar so much that this could be considered a compliment.

Why hasn't anybody mentioned the new 3-series' tailights look like they were stolen from a Subaru? Yikes.

The problem with ALL of the current gen BMWs' styling is that you "have to get used to it."
With the last gen, the nanosecond you saw them, you though, "Mmmmmmm, nice."

No one is bashing BMW here We are all pretty much in agreement that the E90 is a dang nice car, as with most (if not all) BMWs.

It doesn't matter if the car is badged Acura TSX or Honda Accord, it's still a nice reliable car regardless of either badge.

Its not only the 3-series.
My friend and I discovered that the 5-series' tailights look very similar to the WRX's.

If you want to see the new 3, you gotta check out a 330i, with the sports package, and 162 series wheels. The 18" 162 rims make all the difference in the appearance. I love the looks of the car in that configuration. The 16 and 17's don't do the car justice.

the price difference between the 3 series and accord euro in australia is huge.

for a 325i your looking at a minimum of around 70k whereas you can pick up the euro luxury for as little as 40k

im still so suprised the car (euro) is offered for such a low price here - starting at 33,350 nothing comes close!

Your country must have very good trade agreements with Japan. Unless you have a Honda plant in OZ.

...

i saw one on the road and i was driving near em for like 20 mins and everytime i looked at it.....it got uglier, and uglier, and uglier....now i h8 the damn car....i used to to respect bmw's so much because theyre beautiful cars, but the back looks like my old corolla....and its just all wrong....i h8 to say it but i lost ALOT of the respect ad prestige i accompanied with bmw after seeing this car....my black tsx looks so much better....i was even told by my passengers, and it was a compliment since one of my passengers is VERY blunt and would not lie about somethin like that....hope no1 just got a new 3 series...

Thanks for putting this side-by-side for visual confirmation

It might be 'wrong' but 5--series sales has vener been so good. It actually stands out as the best seller in this category in USa, better than E-Class, GS, RL, STS- name it.

Still laughing?

I personally think the car looks pretty good in person. As said before by a few members here, the pictures do not do justice to that vehicle. I can't wait to test drive one.

Oh hi "Saintor", you're back

Course still laughing... guess you forgot I am a BMW fan as much as I am an Acura/Honda fan... Why some have to think it needs to be a mutually exclusive thing

OK, just remember something about the E90 we get in North America that is "weird" to me...

How come the 325i here has a detuned 3.0L instead of the well-tuned 2.5L on the 325i in other markets?

I love my TSX but that doesn't mean I can't admire the new 3 series.

That's what I am talking about man

I never get the "rival" thing amongst car owners/drivers. I understand the history and all that (not only European brands but also amongst the "big 3" American domestics) but just as a car enthuseist, it's only natrual to admire and appreciate all cars that are designed well, engineered well and built well - regardless of brands. Heck, my coworker just picked up the 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid... I admire its hybrid system very much, but SUV ain't my general interest
