Need your opinion on valve cover
This guy is selling this valve cover and it's nice but I want to know what you guys think. I kinda wanted to get one powder coated in yellow like the spoon valve cover but this one is pretty nice I just can't make up my mind so I need your help. The color is candy blue/satin clear.

my opinion:
your engine bay shouldn't be a mess of different colors and different
textures and whatnot.
pick one theme, one color, one whatever and go with it.
or two.
red, yellow, blue, chrome, black, cf, etc.
when you look at the engine bay, it's nice to see a well thought out
and executed design, where it all flows.
rather than just seeing a bunch of stuff colored all brightly for
no other reason than to stick out or whatever.
but I guess it's all about what you want.
I'm going basically blue, black and cf in my engine bay.
So I'm going to need a blue valve cover.
That one above is pretty nice, you're right.

Yeah i don't wan't a bunch of different colors either but since I'm getting the Cusco sturt bar soon the ends are blue and also I already have the black spark plug cover & a black intake maybe the black & blue theme will work.

I've thought about it extensively.
My Samco hoses will be blue.
Many small caps (i.e. washer fluid cap) are blue.
So blue isn't a bad idea.
My main colors will be black and cf.
My intake box will be cf (mugen)
My strut bar will be cf (FEEL'S)
My spark plug cover is cf (Mugen)
My battery will be cf (It's an ugly red Optima right now)
My manifold cover is black (might get it cf wrapped)
And I'll use blue as my accent color. I'll probably have
a few pieces here and there in the engine bay
powdercoated the same time as my valve cover, to have the
color carry it self better around.
And chances are I'll be wrapping most of the wires and such
in the engine bay as well.
Here's an example of a correctly done engine bay if you ask me:

This guy gets what I'm talking about, lol.
Nice work, no doubt.

Anyway, I am not sure how much I agree with the matchie matchie. I like some contrast in my color coordination. I like when trademark colors tie together, like Cusco/Samco blue with maybe a J's valve cover. But if a Spoon cover or spoon engine package is what you are after, by all means make that part stand out.
I built this car a while back:
The combo of Sedona red, bronze CEs, and HKS carbon-ti muffler with blue-burned tip was perfect. Not specifically matching because I was not ever going to do more carbon. We did have a Cusco Ti strut brace on it and there was an aluminum/red theme kinda going underhood.....I don't know tho....hard to say I'd turn down a great part for the sake of a match. If some blue brakes were available for the car I would have gotten them, maybe tying in with the burned Ti muffler tip....Just me.

lol.
we're like women matching shoes and purses with their blouses.
but with car parts, lol.
I agree marcus that it doesn't all have to match, that just happens
to be the look I'm going for on my current car.
But I also think there's a point where too much diversity is just too much.
A point can be crossed where the car looses any sort of visual theme.
And it's usually done so to showcase a brand's trademark color.
I don't like that idea.
For instance, spoon has a yellow valve cover.
But they have a black and red radiator cap.
They have blue reservoir covers.
They have blue calipers.
Their strut bar is aluminium with black end links.
Really, none of the above match, sorry.
J's valve cover and their brakes totally clash.
So my point is no company has a trademark color.
Just a trademark color for that particular part.
Which seems to have no bearing on any of their other parts.
And I see no women clashing their colors in their outfits to have
the same name brand on each piece of clothing, lol.
somebody shut me up please.
