navi problems
alright i have the 06 navi and it it matter it is the 6 speed. i have 2 12s in it. have had them in there for atleast 6 months and never had ne problems. and not everytime so hard bass comes on the naiv says the dvd door is open and then it resetes its self every time. has ne one had problems like this with a system?
Took me a while to read wth hell you were trying to say but I have a 12 inch sub in my trunk too and i've never had any problems with the navi unit. Even when i have my system on full blast. Is the disc tray door actually open when it says that?
I've heard people having trouble with too much bass and the navi disc skipping or getting scratched. I'm not sure what the best solution is for this though. I wonder if you could put something around the drive to help protect it. Or maybe even move the DVD rom drive from the trunk to somewhere else.
What kind of twelves do you have? How much power are we talking?

I don't think moving it would be a good idea, cuz thats an expensive unit and if u happen to mess up the drive's eye or something then u're screwed.
I don't know how much his 2 12s are pumping out but mine is only about 900watts or something and i haven't had any real problem with the navi at all.

^ if the door is in fact actually opening...
i have 2 10's (JBL 10W6V2's) running at 1200 watts RMS and i only have a problem when i'm absolutely blasting it, the DVD skips on occasion (not regularly)... but i've never had any of those other errors you talk about...door open, scratched disk, etc...
however usually when i'm blaring music i don't have the nav screen on i have it on the audio screen... but even switching back and forth i've never noticed anything like that...
i think the easiest solution is to turn your bass down a bit

well i have 2 infinity kappa perfect series. the door does not open. it says it on the screen for a moment then it resets. i am pushing like 1600 watts. they are slappin pretty hard. but even if i turn the bass down and the volume it still does it. and if i let the screen turn off it will still reset. and not once have i ever seen the dvd drive door open. it jus says it is open then it rests. i mean i have had the vol at 10 and it still reset it. and i cant even count how many time it rest last night.
