Navi problem......always saying im on unverified roads.
#5
I have no idea what gen your car is but you do have to train the vehicle correctly when inserting a new disc. There is a procedure to follow to align the system with the roads and perhaps that was done incorrectly. When you say about entering the address and getting UNVERIFIED, have you also taken the vehicle to an expressway or somewhere that HAS to be in the Navi just to be sure the system is not off? Otherwise, I don't have any more ideas.

Hmm.. well according to the map lines on your image the entire area shown on the map is "unverified." (The light grey lines indicate that while the navi knows the roads are there they have not sent a Human in a car to drive the roads to verify they are physically there.)
I'm not sure if there is a setting in the Navi to use unverified roads in routing or not. Probably not, since they don't want to send you down a road they have not 100% verified is there.
At the Navi DVD site they list the areas that should have verified coverage. I'm not sure if your Canadian town is listed here and this would be the most recent update for the vehicle. If your exact town is not listed then the coverage is not verified 100%.
EDIT: I just realized that I looked up the USA NAVI website. You may want to try the Canadian NAVI website to see if they have a more detailed coverage list.

What do you mean by working? It was routing you over those light lined roads? If that's the case then something changed in your settings regarding unverified areas. I'd start there. Right now the dashed blue lines seem to indicate you are following a "birds eye" view.
There's more info on the differences in the line color in the PDF of the '07 Navigation Manual which you can grab here: https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/...8/BOM32854.pdf
Page 6:
Your navigation system has two kinds
of streets: verified (dark colored) and
unverified (light colored). The
differences between the two types of
streets are contrasted in the chart on
page 7.
Detailed chart with additional info on "Unverified Streets" is on Page 7.
Unverified routing is on page 83:
Based on the pictures you've provided you have unverified routing switched off and you need to turn it back on. (See page 83 - your "blue dotted vector line" as shown in the pictures indicates that you have the unverified routing off.)
Under the Routing & Guidance Screen (as described on page 82) you need to turn UNVERIFIED ROUTING ON (2nd Option).
Choose SETUP then ROUTING & GUIDANCE.
The system should work when you turn the routing ON.

i have switched the unverified on, but it still gives me a "dotted line" rather than the "high lighted" streets and it does not announce the street names.........just a "unverified roads" and a window always pop up saying that im on an unverified roads

OK...as noted above, light gray roads are "unverified" with stock color schemes. Navi route in unverfied areas show with dashes rather than the pure hightlight (see the above pix, the Canada 1 portion is pure blue (verified) and the next portion is dashed blue (unverified).

In short, if your city/town/village/bus stop/igloo is listed in one of those updates, getting the new disk will fix your issue...if not, live with the warning.
I've used unverified area on routing before and it has names and is really good (most of the time)...make sure you've turned it on (I believe the default is OFF)...perhaps you've disconnected the battery recently, and it reset?

Prompt level should be set to High, I believe, to hear the street names read aloud. I did not think your year offered this but it may.
In any case, I already linked to the entire 2007 navi manual above and if you can adjust those things it will be in there. Since you stated that your are still seeing the dotted lines it means your UNVERIFIED ROUTING is OFF or your navigation is not turning it ON when you press ON.
#14
like i said, i have used the navi b4, and i have never had the unverified roads, all the routes i have taken are all 'highlighted", i even tried to revisit those routes but now its unverified........and the manual only shows the updates but not whats already on there......so im still unsure

OK...but something has changed. Check the Navi disk...it's unlikely, but it could have either been damaged somehow or (wild long shot) someone at the stealership changed your out for an older version. Note that switching down versions is almost completely impossible without stealership only tools and equipment.
The easy bet is that your Navi settings have changed. What I suggest is a nice quiet evening with your car. Park over a concrete surface (avoids your cats setting grass on fire), idle while you listen to the radio and go through every setting option on your Navi system and make sure it's doing what you want it to do.

Possibility it may have reset.
My Si came with the stock navi and it was reset when I had to unhook my battery. I'm not sure if there's a difference with the TSX, both being a Honda, but I just inserted the disc and it configured all the settings automatically.

Disregard my post above, I just re-read everything again and it makes more sense to me. I noticed in your picture posted, you are viewing in a 200 meter map scale. Here's a note:
Unverified roads are shown only when
viewing the map in the 1/20, 1/8, and
1/4 mile map scales, or the 80, 200, and
400 meter map scales.
Change your viewing settings, hope that helps. GL.

OK, lets start over.
1) Do you live on a verified or unverfied road?
2) If on a verified road, could you select a destination on an unverified road, please.
a) Did it give you directions all the way?
b) Did it pop-up the entering unverified area warning when you exited the verfied road?
c) Did the route displayed change from pure blue highlight to dashed blue highlight when you entered the unverfied area?
d) after entering the unverified area, did visual route directions continue?
3) If you live on an unverified road, enter a destination that is on a verfied road (even 500 km away, if needed).
a) Does it generate a route, and is that route dashed blue until some point and then solid blue to the destination?
4) When on unverfied roads, does it never display road names, always say unnamed/unknown road, or does it name them?
5) Have previously black roads (verified) turned gray (unverified) in this little muddle, and what happened about that time?
6) Have you attempted and "failed" or "suceeded" in upgrading the Navi with a black or gray market disk?
Thanks, I've just gotten completely turned around trying to follow the above discussion.
