My '04 is feels really slow-some advice?
Hey all, I just got an '06 loaner yesterday and after getting my car back today, I just realized how much slower it was performing. Apart from regular oil changes and the 30K mile service, I'm curious to see what other '04 owners do to keep their TSX's running well. I have 33,500 miles on it now. Could I use an engine cleaner? I wouldn't have thought that 5 more horsepower on the '06 really made that much of a difference. What do you all think?

If you do a search for my thread i wrote when i traded in my 04 AT for my new 06 AT, you'll see exactly what you stated. My 04 was slower compared to my new 06 by a pretty decent margin. As for what you can do to keep it running well, just make it breath as best as you can. Take out the resonator box at the least or CAI, get a set of headers, and a high flow cat and you will notice a very nice increase in power. Exhaust is up to you, but the stock exhaust breaths pretty well! Oh yea, and HONDATA. An 04 AT with intake, headers, and the reflash is about the same as a stock 06 so there is your answer.
Oh, and i even had almost the same amount of miles on it as you too.

Do a search and come back with more specific questions and you will get more replies from guys. I'm still relatively new so i don't mind explaining things that the older guys have already explained years ago....lol.

Don't forget about the Hondata reflash along with the CAI and free flowing exhaust. those three should feel like an 06/07 TSX with 5AT.

Searching on "CAI" will be fruitless because its only 3 charachters.
For a replacement intake, search on "Icebox" or "Injen". Use the "search thread titles only" feature. These are two types of replacement intakes.
For a replacement header, there are basically 3 options: Comptech, DC Sports, and Topspeed (listed in descending order of price)
Lastly, search for "hondata" or "reflash" to learn about a reprogramming of the engine ECU for better performance (without sacrificing economy).
Good Luck.

I just experienced how slow the TSX was when tonight at rush hr a teenage girl and her friend in the last gen Eclipse (2001-2006 version) out accelerated me because I wanted to go ahead of her in rush hour traffic because I needed to turn right,
