My theory is that when you mod your car, such as: lowered, rims, exhaust, etc. attracts more doods to look at you and your car than girls.

my theory, that's all.

thats cuz most girls have no idea or dont care about the mods u done to ur car

unless the mods are dramatic, i.e eye catchin/headturning so that even a dumbass could identify the car as "modded", most girls will just think its like any other car.

they may identify a few subtle differences here and there, (like the colour of the car) but thats it. they dont give 2 shits about mods

guys are different. i agree with tintin too. when u mod a car, ur pretty much speaking the language of the car modders, who are 95% guys (prob more) so we understand

its just like how to guys, chicks obsession with shoes look like any other shoes to us guys.

I agree, if your goal is to pickup girls, buy a BMW or Benz, girls can't tell the difference between other cars

^ True that....my friend (girl) couldn't tell between a M3 or a 3 series...

but so far, I know alot of girls who complemented on my car, even when it was stock. After dropped and kit, all they said was "nice, looks pimp!"

It just depends on how you mod it.

Like someone else said, if you make dramatic changes in an attempt to be eye-catching, you might catch the attention of some girls, but most of the subtle mods done by most modders are hardly going to get noticed.

yeah my ex gf hated my modded car she would complain it's too low and she would freak out if I pressed on the gas a little more than usual. She would grab the dash like we were about to wreck and there would be no one in front of us.

A girl with a modded car always gets my attention unless she is fugly.

On the other hand I've been on dates with girls who drive too fast even for me and I'm like slow down!! doing 65 in a 35 is just asking for a ticket.

If tastefully done, it will get the attention of both genders.

By the same token, if poorly done, it will also get everyone's attention

Girls usually can't pick up on subtle mods.
I've gotten positive comments from both genders about my wheels and tint

Do yourself a favor and avoid women who are attracted to such things as cars and material goods. They aren't worth your time.

waTSX, that the right idea she's only a "car ho" if she notices your car but not you I think of it as a big warning label thats written all over the female if she notices your car instead of you.

On the topic of miding a car i feel that JDM is still better, because it's a very clean look that doesn't scream attention like the VW passat tv Ad. where everybody had a speaker phone saying that there making up for there short comings and I'm make more then you.

age is a factor here...

i'd say up to about 28 or so its all good...

above that chix are looking for an adult not a kid trying to make his 30k car look like a 40k+ car.

If certain things have been done it will attract chicks. TV's galore, spinners,etc.. chicks dig that cause that = $$$$$

However if it's nice and subtle not obvious or attention grabbing they will never know or care.

While those kinds of mods would increase the attention that you get from guys, I don't think it would decrease at all how much women are attracted to your car. So therefore there's no harm in doing it, since it could ony help.

hehe, i do the same thing as ur gf when i'm the car with my bf. but instead of grabbing the dash, i'd shriek at the top of my lungs. and when i had my old tl (i had it for like 2 months before i got rid of it) i'd always bump my head while trying to get out. i guess i'm not that used to lowered cars.

Yeah, girls don't care about modded cars. In fact, many think it's "dumb" or "stupid" to waste money. They thought it was stupid that I put the A-spec kit and suspension.

Yet the girls I know who do know what an M3 is, go "oooooh nice!" I tell them the M3 is just a 3 series with a modded engine, bodykit, and better suspension. Go figure.

Or even worse, making a $30k car look like a $10k car

I've had some nice compliments from girls about my car. Especially the blue interior LED lighting

When I drive down the street, girls are bouncing off my car left and right

kidding... my wife actually likes the car lowered (although she liked it regular height too). But she gets a kick out of the intake noise. I think I get a bigger kick out of it though, lol.
