Map Light Replacement

Is this something easily done by DIY?
Both of mine went out recently, and I don't want to pay the dealer some stupid amount to do something relatively simple if I can do it myself.

Thanks.

It's so easy. You need a small screwdriver and the lenses pop right off. No joke, that's what the factory service manual says. I used a small screwdriver for glasses and covered it with paper towel. Pry with light pressure near the pivot on the side facing the front of the car and then again on the side facing the rear. The housing plastic is very soft so take care not to damage it. Now is a good time to switch to LEDs if you like their look. Good luck!

Yup. Shouldn't take you more than 5 mins to do all of them. Front 2 map lights and the rear dome is great if you go LED. I did and absolutely love them.

Just make sure you turn the dome light switch to 'off' before changing them

This is such an easy DIY. I changed mine the other week with LED's and as mentioned above, all you do is take a flat head screwdriver, apply light pressure on the back and front end to pop the joints from each pivoting section and you're set. I highly recommend getting some LED's for the map lights - it looks super cool if you set the switches to "door" so when you press your unlock button on the key fob at night, everything lights up for all to see :-)

Can anyone make a suggestion on where to order these from. Local auto parts store didn't have them, and I'm having trouble hunting them down on the internet. Maybe I'm just searching the wrong thing.

LEDs can be bought on eBay, Amazon, iJDMtoy, superbrightleds etc etc. Just google search for it or something.

I recommend these for the dome/map lights (you'll need 3 bulbs total). They've never burned out on me yet after more than a year.

The dice ones from superbrightleds will work too, but they burn out way more often.
