"maintenance required" lamp blinking ?

My TSX is only 9K and I got this "maintenance required" lamp blinking for couple seconds when I start my car, any idea what should I do about it ? I called the dealer and they said "it's a reminder that ur car is more than 7K". Hmm...I was like ... doesnt make sense to me.

Any idea ? And yah, I feel like less power in my car right now, is it because I havent change my oil ? Any comment would be appreciated. thanks !!

I'm no mechanic but I don't think not changing oil has much to do w/ power loss. As far as when to change oil, manual says every 10k, but I'm gonna change it every 5.

Its a main. reminder that service is due on your TSX. When you bring your car in for an oil change they will reset it for you.

it's just a lil warning that ur car is nearly due for a check up. My accord is blinking too now and i dont usually service it till the light goes on permanantly...

I have to agree, is it so hard to read the damn owners manual?

Hey Masboy,

Just have a look in the owners manual. This light thing will come on for you every 8K or so to remind you it's time to get an oil change/service. Thats it thats all. You can turn off the light if you want to.

Have a look in the owners manual and you will see the service schedule for your car. There will be oil changes plus other checks thrown in every so often based on when belts should be looked at or replaced etc...

Don't freak out just read your manual man.

...blinking for couple seconds when I start my car
Isn't it supposed to blink for a few secs everytime you start the car? It needs maintenance only when the light is steadily lit and does not go off after the car starts.

there is a fix for it. My brother in law has a TL and his light came on too and he held something down before starting the car and it goes away. I will find out and let you guys know.

Every TSX owner who bought the car new should be able to find out how to reset it on their own. It's in the god damn owner's manual.
