Lower Grills

Was just wondering if anyone has created or are selling any lower grills(mesh) for an 06 tsx?
If you are creating, any advice, parts+installation?
if you know where to buy or are selling, how much?

Thanks

good luck broodster, you should be the ginea pig, buy a sheet of galvanized mesh and use cardboard to make a template and start cutting.

I did this for my 06.

It was made from this. I bought it at my local Home Depot.

[EDIT]
Add cardboard template.

Yea that looks great. Did you have to take out your bumper inorder to create the template? Did you attach the grill to the black pastic that was already there?

I found a piece of cardboard that was long enough for the grill area and then started to trim away the excess cardboard until it was the shape of the front grill.

BTW the price of the grill from Home Depot was like under 4 bucks.

excellent. appreciate it.
btw, when you cut the mesh, did you have to sand it afterwards to prevent it from scratching the paint?
Also, can anyone recommend what kind of paint I can use if I wanted to color it black?

Yes, I sand the edges with my dremel and bent them inwards.

I want to paint mine soon. Just have not had time to do so. I probably paint the grill with some black enamel spray paint. Either semi-glossy or glossy. Not sure yet.

Something like this:

I did this circa 1993 with my 91 Civic 4door, exact same methodology, exact same materials. It was a bitch to cut into shape, so wear gloves. Definitely smooth out or paint those rough edges.

IMHO, now that I look back, its pretty ricer, but to each his own.

A word of caution: blocking the or breaking up that direct air flow to your radiator is bad news. I know using that gutter guard sheet breaks it up more so since the holes aren't really flow through like a screen door. Its probably not bad day to day, but in the long run, you're really stressing out the cooling system.

I did not drill any holes. I use two zip ties on the top to hold them in place.

I have a happy car. She has a garage to keep her safe at night.

Then again she is happy all the time.
