after re-reading what they said, i think they meant it as a compliment -- i think the 'average' buyer of a TSX is a woman with high income. I've read that somewhere else before but can't find a link to sales demographics. Acura claims the breakout is 50/50 men vs women buyers, but i think women have a slight majority.
That being said, here in Atlanta I actually see more men driving TSXs and i see women driving TLs.

Our TSX belongs to my wife.
She wanted a smaller luxury sport sedan with a good balance of performance, style, economy and exceptional long-term value. The TL was just a little too large for her and the RDX wasn't out yet in 2006. I've tried to convince my wife to go for the TL (because that was what I wanted) but she insisted on the TSX.
After +20 months and +24,000 miles, she made the right decision. We usually see 50/50 split for TSX drivers in New Mexico. I’ve notice the ages for drivers lean towards +35.

This article shouldnt surprise anyone. We know we are the minority. Vast majority of people don't but the TSX for modifications- I bought mine for the way it handles, awesome gas mileage, and nice interior. I have a friend who has a tsx nearly identical to mine and he is one of the only guys Ive seen with a tsx. I always see ladies in their upper 30's- 40's. Then again, I live in the south- if you dont have a truck or suv you're not a man

For many of these cars they could have just as easily picked the other gender - it almost seemed random or just whatever the journalist wanted to pick. My observation on the road male TSX drivers outnumber the women by about 5 to 1.
This is simply an example of yet another journalist making stuff up to fill a void on a web page. The reasons people pick the cars they do is so complex it's impossible to sum it up in a sentence. As hard as I have to work for my paycheck, it bothers me that people actually get paid for this kind of stuff.

I saw that article on Yahoo yesterday and realized well before I got to the TSX that it was just a bunch thoughtless fluff. Some editor just didn't feel like doing his job that day because the idea for that article shouldn't have survived 5 minutes, let alone all the way to press. I agree 100% it was just some hack "journalist" making crap up and sticking a picture next to it.

Its crazy that there are so many more male TSX drivers in your areas than female. I really dont see any guys with TSXs around here. The south definitely seems to have different gender roles in regards to cars than the rest of the US. When I talk about how much I love cars and can drive faster in twisties and safer in rain, I always hear "Guys need trucks/ suvs" or "I cant fit in a car" (when i am 6 ft 2 myself) or "I like to sit high up" Same story every time and I get the same weird looks about not liking trucks.

TSX for Women???
I could care less what Forbes "opinion" is on TSX. If they had factual information it may make a difference, but bottom line for me is it was the perfect "bang for the buck" car for me so I feel no need to get a "man's car" whatever that description is. I know trucks/SUV's are more popular here in the south (FL), but I'm secure enough in my manhood to believe I don't need a falic symbol to make me feel manly.

Don't you see more men driving TSXs? Forbes is just taking shots in the dark to me...as there are a lot of cars I believe women would consider as well...does that make those cars 'chick' cars as well...

Around Northern VA/MD/DC, I think the TSX is roughly 50/50 between men and women. I will agree that most TSX drivers I see are middle aged, but then again, not many 20 somethings drive a car in the high 20-low 30's. Nevertheless, I'm proud that I bought mine after saving up for years.

Oh no - the absolute all-time chick car was this.
Not only was every driver I ever saw a woman, she was in her late teens or early 20's, and blonde. Never, ever - in dozens if not hundreds of sightings - seen anyone different behind the wheel.

"The driver behind the wheel of the Acura TSX is a man who is likely single and spends too much time browsing car forums and blogs. He is hypersensitive about the image of his car, especially to any suggestion that it is driven by successful women."

I'm more hypersensitive about lazy journalism than anything having to do with my car.

The comments section of the main article dump all over it. The author Jacqueline Mitchell probably isn't getting a promotion anytime soon. I'm sure she drives a Jaguar, your typical shallow careerist female, likely divorced 4.5 times, likely hates the smell of children, likely would sleep her way to the top if anyone would take her up on the offer. I notice she predominantly references luxury makes, because she's shallow of course.
The worst thing about the article is doesn't cite references or any central source of information. She probably just called up a few area car dealers and talked with their bullshitting marketing people who'd say anything to get a free mention in Forbes and then sprinkled her own unsupported claims in between to give them an apearance of credibility. She really phoned this one in.

you know guys, (or ladies) your showing your resent for the purchase by trying to convince yourself otherwise....the best thing would have been not even respond to this post.
