LED Turn Signals

I'm interesting in having LED's for my turn signal.

Here is the installation

Does anyone have any suggestions or Pictures of where I mount the Load resistor?

They get hot so it needs to be away from Plastic, or any other wires.

Thanks

They do get hot, but not super burninating hot. Additionally, since they are turn signals, they are barely ever on, so you don't have to worry about them too much. If they were for LED tails, that would be a different story.

As is, for the front turn signals just use some foam double-sided tape and tape the bottom of the resistor to an open piece of frame. All you really need to do is make sure they won't slide around, and that will do the trick.

Can someone elaborate on why the instructions say to use 3 Ohm Resistors IF I was to do the Both front and rear?

Why can I not use 6 Ohm resistors for both front and back?

I believe the resistance of stock bulbs is 3 Ohms. Not sure if the resistance of 6 Ohms would slow down the relay.

I'm using 6ohm resistors on each turn signal, no problems. It was just what I could get for free.

Thanks for the advice, I'm going to use a total for 4 6OHM load resistors.

Since it worked with REACH's turn signals.

Will post pics and movie after installation!

^^ Edit, all you need is two 3 Ohm resistors in the front and that covers the front and back.

There is no need to buy four 6 Ohm resistors.

So you don't need to install any in the back if you just put two in the front?

Cool

^^ Yes, Thats correct. I wanted to clarify so that others won't go off and purchase 4 load resistors which is not necessary for your car or your wallet.

To give you an update, I've been running the load resistors with LED Bulbs for all turn signals and they are doing just fine for more than a year.

As for mounting the load resistor, Using 3M double sided tape is the way to go so you don't have to drill.

I recommend this mod for anyone looking for the instant On / Off look for turn signals since your side mirror signals are LED's already.
