The last 2008 serial number?

Does anyone have an idea how many 08 TSX's were made?
The highest I saw at my local acura dealer today was around 21,700.

It was my understanding that only 15,000 TSX's per model year were brought into the U.S. That was of 2006, that number may have changed since.

Sorry, my mistake. The last five digits was about 20700, NOT 21700.
I'm guessing about 21,000 08's were made.

I've got an 08 (bought in Canada) with a January 08 date of manufacture. However, my VIN would indicate less than 2000 were made. The 5th-last digit is a 0. I don't believe Canadian and US vehicles are on different VIN "counters" - are they?

When the TSX was released, Acura projected that they would sell 15,000 units for the first model year in the US (not sure if they included Canada in those numbers) In fact they far exceeded that number for the '04 model as mine (purchased in 12/03) has a low 20,000 serial number. '04 was an extra long model year, but I'd guess Acura has easily sold more than 20,000 per year.

Thanks for the clear up poltergeist. Now you got me wondering where I got that info. I could have sworn my salesman told me that. But I admit to being overly excited when I bought the car, lol.

The VIN numbers would be the same, but one of the letters/numbers in the middle could identify its destination as Canada as oppposed to the USA. With exception to the last 6 numbers, which is the production sequence, the rest of the VIN has specific meaning.....country of origin, vehicle model, AT vs MT, Navi vs Non Navi, exterior/interior color, plant is was produced at, etc etc.

Looks like the last 08's were built January 08. I'll be suprised if the 09 reaches 20K. I am so glad I purchased a 08 late January. Black/parchment/Navi/Auto

The "navi/non-navi" digit is different in Canada. I didn't realize that. I've got an "8" with Navi, and of course, the 80xxxx in the counters. They definitely are different "models" to manufacture (US vs. Canada) - so it would make sense to have different counters. Thanks for the info!!

For Canadian models, where is there "7" and "8" under Vehicle Grade. I thought ALL TSX came with side curtain airbags. Who has a "7"?
