Large gap between door and dash.

There is an unusually large gap in between the door and the dash when the door is closed. Is does not sit flush. For me its about a half inch. The body panels on the car seem to be nice and tight so I am surprised by this. I was just looking at the 360 interior view on acura.com and noticed that this gap was much smaller and the door seems to sit nicely against the dash.

So does everyone have this gap or is it just me (or a select few)? I am wondering if I can blame the engineers, or the assembly at the plant for this one.

If I have time I will try and take a picture of the gap so you can see what I mean.

i have teh gap too

i know what gap you are talking about, its right next to the side vents on the car. my tsx has it and my sister's new accord has it. no big deal i guess.

however, i have noticed that rattles come from the gap between the door and the dash on teh TSX and the accord has no rattles there.

if u look at the last generation accords, the gap is very closed. around 1cm. i have asked about the gap and the dealer said "when temperatures get hot, the dash and door will expand"
i think he was bullshiting. i don't think it expands that much.
its nothing to worry about.

I am not worried about it, just curious if it was designed that way or just not put together properly. Either way I have to say its NOT a good thing, but I wont loose any sleep over it. As for expanding when hot..that is definately a load of crap.

I have it too on my TSX. It used to irritate me, but now I'm used to it --- mostly because I have found something else that irritates me (the passenger side doors don't match in color )

Anyway, I was rather surprised by it as it looks cheap, like the fitment wasn't done right. However, it is even on both sides so I figure it was more with the design. In contrast, my dad's 2004 RL has a tight fit between the doors and the dash. I wish it was more like that.

Same here. I must say the gap seems odd and should be narrower IMO. But again, Honda engineers will tell you it's still within acceptable tolerance.
