Just a thought on an s-type TSX
After looking at hybrids from my sister and realzing how much torque they produce (the prius's electric motor produces over 295 lbs/ft) and knowing how much of a green company Honda is, wouldn't a hybrid SH-AWD TSX make a great s-type. After all the only thing the TSX really lacks is torque. The electric motor would be used for intial torque off the line and the gas engine could be tuned for max hp output (with the vtec kicking in at a much earlier rpm ie. hondata)
Hybrid's don't have to be all about gas millage. Put in a thicker sterring wheel, make the dash inserts real, use the a-spec set up and you have a competitor to the other factory tuned models in this class. (err, except for the new RS4. That thing is sick)
Just a thought.

I hear that's what they are doing to the NSX. Doing a hybrid system w/ V6 and electric hybrid. Yeah, the electric system has mad torque.
An SH-AWD, hybrid system pushing the TSX at 250-300 hp , 220-250 ft.lbs (no turbo necessary), running 25 city / 30 highway, weighing in at 3300. That's what I'd hope from Acura for 2007. I'd buy it for $35,000-$40,000.
The whole lineup with the RSX as the entry, TSX as the mid level and TL as the sedan, and RL as the luxury, and NSX as the ultra exotic sports car leaves room for a car that is competition to 350Z, IS300, BMW M3, Audi S4. Acura should perhaps make RSX the true race car, leave the TSX as is and get rid of the affordable Acura. Make a Honda equivalent to the RSX to replace the Prelude. then the new RSX can be the upgrade for the TSX. Except you'd have to call it something new, like SX. Say that fast 3 times.

Try viewing the "matrix" chart on Temple of vtech, it seems like a 45k Sports car will be released before 2010, as for the RSX, TSX, TL, and RL, it'll all stay within the Acura family but will get boosts in power, luxury, and of course..price.

I think this is what Acura should do for 2007
-(Entry Level Sedan/Coupe) - Get Rid of the Civic-based RSX as the new Civic Si will be virtually Identical to it. In it's place build a 2 door version of the TSX and dub it the CSX. Increase the HP on the 2.4l to at least 225hp for base model and offer a 250hp Type-S for both the TSX and CSX. Those adjustments should help them compete against the BMW 3 series better.
-(Entry Level SUV) - The Turbo Charged 260hp Acura RDX sounds fine but if they are going to turbo charge the entry level SUV then...
-(Luxury Sedan/Coupe) - Bring back the Acura CL! The TL (like the TSX) NEEDS a 2 door sibling!(they still make a 2 Door Accord) Keep the 3.2 Litter 270hp engine for the base models, but for the Type-S models include a Turbo Charged version of the 3.5l from the RL that Produce 350hp. Also include a step up from the Type-S, Type-SH with the same turbo 3.5l but with 380hp and AWD.
-(SUV) - MDX needs a make over, I know it's getting one soon, so here are my suggestions:
Base=3.5l w/255hp + 65hp electric motor, and of course AWD.
Touring=3.5l w/300hp + 65hp electric motor, AWD and all the goodies of Touring Models.
-(Large Luxury) - Keep the base model as it is, but offer a Type-S, still with the 300hp V6, but tack onto it two 65 hp electric motors.
-(Exotic) - Finally Redo the NSX!!! Use the same engine as the TL Type-SH (380hp turbo) and add a 65hp electric motor. Make it a RWD based AWD car not FWD based AWD car like the rest of Acura/Honda's AWD line up.
Unrealistic? Maybe. If Honda/Acura offered these options, would they sell? HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!
