I guess you go back the long way?

Congrats on your new car. We know what you mean. I actually still enjoy my commuting.

When you get a chance, maybe you want to tell us what you got -- automatic or manual, color, nav or no nav, also maybe a fuller "report" if you feel like it.....

Got the Silver with Nav. It is an automatic. I was going to get the manual stick but decided with a 2 + hour commute sitting in bumper to bumper traffic, my clutch leg may get tired after to long.. hahahahah so I found out about the sport shifting in the auto and thought that would be fine... not to mention I would have had to order the car.. and I have no patience...

I am taking it back in this Friday to get the fog lights and rear spoiler put on.

This is my first car with these types of headlights..(uh still don't know what they are) but I love them... the road is completely lit up and not the tiring yellow look... it is great...

I have that same exact commute up in Connecticut. Took me 2 hours down on Monday morning which was my first work day with my TSX so I know exactly how you feel and I went for the auto too. Such a nicer ride than the manual 92 Prelude I had.

The headlights are HIDs (High Intensity Discharge) lights. These are my first car with HIDs and I'm enjoying them as well.

Yesterday was my first day and night driving my TSX. (Took delivery less than 24 hours ago.) Previously, I didn't know what people were referring to regarding "cut-off". NOW I know! WOW!

My morning drive was great this morning. It was the first day since I've had my car that the temp was below 80*, so it felt like a cool, brisk day to me. I rolled down the windows as I approached my car, got in, blared some Linkin Park, and never looked back. The drive really helped wake me up.

*..of course it warmed up this afternoon, and the heat index is currently 99° F.

i actually picked up my TSX at the dealership last night also. It's black on black and looks nasty. ofcourse after spending days reading stuff on this message board i am already hungry to modify, fortunately for my wallet there are not many products available for the TSX yet....110 miles on the car already since yesterday haha. so far i have no rattles in the doors but i have been listening carefully because i am paranoid from reading others posts. such is life. peace

Yeah no kidding. I walked outside this morning and thought "WTF, this almost feels like November?" ... then the mid-morning heat took care of that.

Interesting HID study at the LRC. Although I think one of the main reasons why people complain is that they stare at the damn things too much. The old halogens will blind you as well, but they're not interesting to look at.

It's just that Brad's been kinda living here already for a few months......

BTW -- I don't have any rattles either, and I've had the car 5 months. Some of us just have good karma I guess.

Sounds like about 90 miles to work and 120 back.

Saturn owners have their dealers. TSX owners have acura-tsx.com.

(For those that don't know, I'm referring to the practice of cheering for someone who just got their car.)

my commute is actually only about 120 round trip... but the traffic is awful in the direction I go. If I make the drive from home to work on the weekend or non-commute hours, I can get there in about 50 minutes averaging 70 - 80 mph...

tehCOW... I totally agree about the 205... they really need to make that 3 lanes in each direction... with as many people which drive that road, 2 lanes is just not enough.

Man... I just love this car... I now have 310 miles on it after two days... and still have more than a quarter of a tank of gas... my god... I have been driving a GMC Jimmy for the last 3 years and with a full tank of gas I was lucky to get a total of 310 miles... trading it in for the TSX was definately what I needed... aspecially with the CA gas prices now days...

thanks larchmont. i'm really happy with my purchase so far. i really don't think there are any other cars in this price range that compare to the level of quality of the TSX. plus it looks the balls. i parked next to some expensive mercedes yesterday and i actually thought the TSX looked much better looking. much cheaper too!!!

can't wait to throw on an aftermarket exhaust and intake. i wish comptech would hurry the f&%k up!!!

Thanks! (I didn't catch your message earlier.)

Yes, I guess that's my announcement. I'm a low-key kind of guy, you know.

The "cah" is very nice. I don't have a name for it, though. It's a Satin Silver Metallic. I'm utterly amazed at how smoooooth and quick it is! Highway 280 from highway 85 til about highway 380 is a good run. The highway was designed from much higher speeds than the 65 mph limit. It's built on mostly a lot of rolling hills. It's a big speed trap.

We'll be looking for a post on how different it is than an Accord. Any day now, I'm sure.

I'll work on that... Maybe I should start a new thread rather than hijack this one.

Yeah, baby! I occasionally drive 280 from DeAnza to Hwy92. You can get really haulin' on that southbound short downhill stretch right around Hwy92 (and also near Alpine Road) Gotta be careful, there. It's so easy to unintentionally get above 100mph! A civil engineer friend of mine once told me that I-280 was designed so that you could safely negotiate any of its curves at a minimum speed of 90mph (provided there was no other traffic).

I was on Alpine Road yesterday. Today I'm taking my pet parrot to her vet in Portola Valley, and that can make some nice driving.

That is absolutely correct about the highway being designed for 90mph. I think engineering designs started in the late 50's or early 60's. This was when progress meant faster, faster, faster. (Nowadays, "progress" can mean "regress".) Nowadays the "progress" label is....welllllllll...I'll steer way clear of that for now.

The beauty about 280 is that they actually _constructed_ it, not unlike the better European highways. Nowadays, we build budget-grade garbage highways with cheap crap "pore-and-smooth-patch-it-next-year" asphalt.

Highway 35 from 280/92 to Half Moon Bay is fun if there's no traffic. It's a royal pain if granny in her 50 foot recreational vehicle is ahead of you at 5mph.

Highway 1 is scary if you're not careful, however. Typically two lanes in each direction with steep ocean cliffs on one side and little room for error.

The road up to Mount Hamilton (beyond Milpitas) should be good for the TSX. And the up country overlooking the East Bay from Mount Hamilton through Mount Diablo have some nice windy twisty roads. (MANY car commercials are filmed in this area!)

I think I'm getting dizzy thinking about them!
