Installing a shift boot on 5AT
Although people might think it's to imitate a 6MT I want to do this mod for a cleaner look. I want to buy a Black Leather shift boot and keep it with the stock shift knob on the 5AT. Where can I buy it? Can I just get any shift boot and just stick it on with the bezel that comes with it?

An aftermarket kit or DIY will likely make it look worse.

i dont think its really posing per se.. but i dont think it really looks cleaner at all, i'd say it looks less clean. i know the 05 g35s had this as a new feature. the 03 and 04s had the normal looking shift pattern. i suppose shift boot can keep dirt out of the shift gate part....

Doesn't matter what it looks like on the outside, you know it's an automatic. Why would you want to make it look like it's a manual transmission?
I happen to think the stock automatic shifter looks extremely nice and clean. At least much better than what is in the Honda Accord and Civic.
