indash navi conversion

ok so ive done some research and i know of the difficulties in converting the oem radio to an oem indash navi, but my question is if i found a navi unit for cheap and didnt use it for navigation only for the touch screen feature and easier to go though music and so i can put a back up cam in is it still not a plug and play? if i just plug it in with no alterations what features do i loose?

Well, I've actually done the OEM radio to OEM navi conversion on my 07 TSX. I had a copy of the a service manual and everything. The thing is that if you're going to do the swap, you might as well go all the way. This is because you can't just simply take th radio out and put a navi in instead. I thought I could do this at first too. The reason why is because you need a custom harness to power up the navi unit. The navigational unit is actually controlled by the DVD unit in the back. So without that, the navi won't even function. I ended up building a custom harness to get everything to work. It cost roughly $1,500 for the whole conversion. I had a backup camera installed as well, and the DVD unit is what controls that as well. I hope that answers your question
