IL Owners...Is 2K off Sticker Unreasonable?

Hey guys, ive seen some posts up sayin that they got their TSX for around 27K (for a non-navi) out the door.... which equates to about 2K off sticker. I talked to the internet sales manager from Continental Acura out in Lisle, IL and they are tellin me that theyve never seen one sell for that cheap. He even went so far as to say that the numbers i gave him which were #'s that ive seen here, were merely embellishments by the owners. Now i kinda doubt that, but Im really starting to try to negotiate a Price, and a response like this has kinda got me discouraged.

Please tell me fellas... that a 27000-27500 out the door with dest and taxes is doable for a 5AT non navi TSX!!!

Any help would be much appreciated!

According to Edmunds, MSRP and Invoice are $26,490, $24,147 respectively for non-nav. Destination is $545.

Somewhere between the two would seem to be a very good deal. Much over MSRP would not. Unless there is some good reason that is regional.

actually im in TX.....hehehe

I guess dealers can sell this car for MSRP now because its in limit production, but my trip to the dealership last week I saw about 15 tsxes sitting on the lot. Either Acura has been rolling them quicker or they arent so hot anymore, not sure to tell you the truth. I got my car early Feb.

I got mine at Pauly

I paid 25,700 w/ dest. on a manual tranny non-navi (originally agreed to 25,500 but I ended up paying an extra couple hundered b/c they had to find it for me (I know, I shouldn't have agreed to that but whatever). w/ taxes it'll be @27,300. Continental and Rizza tried to give me 1000 and 500 off respectively and said they wouldn't go any lower which is totally bogus. If the car wasn't as hot as it is I would tell you not to go over 25,300 (500 over invoice), but thats not likely in chicago (though it seems they are getting that kinda deal in TX).
Good luck.

Look at it this way, state+county income tax is 10.25% and property is starting to get the same as NorCal.

Trust me...they're getting their money.

26880 out the door at McGrath! wow, that would be pretty sweet. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you dont buy into the whole "we dont negotiate these cars b/c they are too hot" ploy.

wow that's a great deal. i drove a 6MT there this past weekend. salesman i was dealing with was a total idiot, so i'm gonna go back this weekend and talk w/ someone else.

i'd like to deal with mcgrath though, cause they're right down the road from my office.

thanks for the info, i'll at least know that they'll let you negotiate quite a bit.

good luck crowdedstr... Ive decided to just wait till May and order/buy then. I figure i can look on the lots then instead of ordering now and not getting as good a deal. Then again.. i might have to order it in May and then wait till June to get mine... but I think ill take my chances. Happy hunting!!

i dont plan on jumping on anything right away either. i've still got some other brands to drive first before i make a decision anyway, but right now the acuras (tsx or tl) are at the top of my list.

all depends on what the dealerships are willing to give me for a trade on my '02 jetta anyway.

Definitely doable!

Make them work for your business before you ever walk into the dealership. You'd be surprised the kind of incentives you can gain by simply calling and negotiating before ever walking through the door.
