HP loss over MT vs AT

HP loss over MT vs AT
Hi,
I read somewhere that the AT losses 20 % hp on the TSX (normal cars lose about 24%). If it is, then how much hp is loss through an MT?
Basically I was just wondering how much is loss over a MT vs AT? I hope that 20 percent isn't a 20 percent loss from MT!

Check out this dyno: http://www.acura-tsx.com/forums/show...5&pagenumber=1
According to the dyno, the 6MT is losing just under 15%. I havent seen a 5AT dyno yet, but if what you are saying is true then there will be 5% more loss with AT.

We have seen a Auto dyno. It was from when Injen released their CAI for the TSX. The dyno's they released were from an Automatic. The Auto TSX was putting down 160HP compared to the 170 normally put down on a 6MT. I remember this specifically because the Injen CAI Auto TSX equalled or exceded a stock 6MT HP figures.
Too lazy to search, maybe tommorrow morning.
And yes this should be moved and has been.

You cannot measure the real output of your engine unless you actually remove it from your car. Instead dynos measure the power at the wheels, so my dyno was 175whp (wheel horsepower), which is equivalent to about 207 at the crank.
AT loses more HP than the MT because of the parts required for the transmission. To make about 160 whp the AT is losing about 23% from the crank. About 5% more than a MT.
