How Soon to Condition Leather seats?

Picked up my 06 TSX two weeks ago. I've read a lot on what products to use etc for maintaining the exterior/interior. Some threads gave suggested time intervals for various maintenance items, but I haven't come across any receommendation on how soon to condition the leather seats.

The seats still look brand new at this point, of course. I want to make sure that they continue to look that way. So, is there a recommended "waiting period"? Or should I do it right away? Is there such a thing as "too soon" for this sort of thing?

Thanks!

I'd do it right-away. Lexol cleaner and then Lexol conditioner.

Works wonders on leather (I use it on my seats in the car, and my couches and loveseat in the house).

I agree. I did it every other month on my Jetta.

I find myself repeating on this topic...but Honda makes a fantastic leather aerosol cleaner in the detail kit box. It makes the leather soft and supple rather than tacky and sticky like Lexol. I found it to remove leather cracks better than Lexol.

Hmm, where can you get this kit?

No waiting period. The sooner you do it the better. Because much of the original leather oils are still in there, so conditioning will ensure that the oil stays in to keep the leather supple. Heat and UV will dry out the leather, so the leather conditioner becomes the sacrificial oil.

i was at the international auto show that we had here in montreal Canada this week, and i noticed that the 2006 TSX leather had many cracks, as if it was really old.
i know there must have been a thousand asses that sat on it, but never the less, it's still new
Is this common (i do not own a TSX)!?

From the Acura dealer. It's called the detail kit. Comes in a black box pictured with a black NSX. It comes with glass cleaner, plastics cleaner, and the leather cleaner. They are 3 small cans for about $8.47 cost. I would avoid the large pump bottle leather cleaner they sell seperately. It just doesn't smell or condition the same as the aerosol can version.
