How often do you wash your new TSX?

Alright so I'm one of those newbie type people and I suppose I'm a bit overzealous about the care of my new 07 TSX, but I thought it might be helpful to know how others take care of their cars...? I mean, when you get a new car, you generally try to keep it "show room gorgeous", but after that first rain, flake of dust or in my case at @ 3pm today, snow storm... a guy is allowed to get a little pissed off at the elements.

Anyways, what I'm trying to say is how often should you wash your car? Keep in ming mine is black so I might need to get it washed more times than another color, but I really wanted to hear your feedback?

Also, since we live up here in the NorthEast (Long Island, NY)...I don't have the luxury of hand washing. When you take it to a car wash, does it matter what kind you bring it to? I.E. brushless or machine car wash?

Thanks all I look forward to your thoughts.

Car wash? What's that? I handwash about once a week or so. Wax about once a quarter.

When I first got mine I was washing it twice a week. Granted when I did get it, it was Spring so it rained a lot and pollen and all kinds a crap.

Now I wash it once every week and a half or so. Wax (detail) it every 3-4 months.

DO NOT use an automatic car wash with brushes. If its impossible to hand wash your car, I would reccomend you use touchless auto car washes and/or the DIY pressure washer ones... but dont use the foaming brush, it WILL leave scratches.

Every 2-3 weeks, wax once every 3 months or so, and detail once in the spring and once in the fall.

When the temp is above 55 or so, I do it every weekend. During winter, I take it through a car wash about once a month, even though I hate to do that. I can't stand to see my car dirty. It's filthy now, and it's snowing out. Good thing it's silver, lol.

Second that!! Mine is silver and since it was snowing again today, i never washed the salt off from before (well the worst of it i got off) but you cna't tell cause its ASM!!

I was mine every weekend as well in the spring, summer, and fall. Then in winter i hit the touchless car washes about once every 2-3 weeks! Detail it 2-3 times a year!

^^ Jwood you need a new avatar of your new ride. ...j/k

By the way, I wash my car 1 to 2 times a week in the spring/summer. Cold winter days I never wash it myself. I take it to Acura Automatic car was for FREE.....

It snowed last week and just this past Saturday I had Turltewax wash my car for $25. They did a grrrreat job, but then mother nature dumped 10 inches of snow this morning....

Once a week, unless it rained then twice. Just kind of depends I supposed. I wax once a quarter or so as well, and detail once a month or every 4th wash. I use a wash service that washes my car while Im at work so every 4th wash is free, works great

Oops, just noticed you are asking about a new car...well, if it helps, I have done this since day one with mine.

Perhaps a detailing shop? They may be pricey, but probably worth it.

Every three weeks or so. Wax it about twice a year.

Used to be super vain with my last car (Monterey Blue Metallic) since it looked filthy only 3 hours or so after a wash, so I got PWP this time around. Love it so far.

i think i'll start washing every 2 weeks or so. i just finished this past sunday using optimum's NRNW. stuff is great.

once it gets over 50, i'm going to give the car a more-detailed wash, paint cleaning and waxing. too bad NYC's winter decided to suddenly show up.

once every 2~3 weeks in this type of weather (0~10F in Michigan)

use coin wash places, but never use their brush or soap.

in this weather, no one goes to coin car wash, so they don't care if i use ONLY warm water and use my car wash stuff (soap, fiber towels, etc)

it's so cold... i rinse the car and after about 30 seconds whem i'm about to use the soap, water's all frozen on the car.

Forgot to mention.

Once Spring rolls around, I'll probably start "religiously" washing it once a week.
So many bugs seem to want to commit suicide when I'm driving around in the Summer

Plus I'll have moved into my new house (YAY!!) and can do it whenever the hell I want.

i'd also like to note my disgust to all birds in the surrounding tri-state area. thanks to the milder-than-normal weather in NY (but still too cold to wax, wtf) there have been a lot more birds around than usual. and more birds means more bird shit on the car. i can't stand it.

I used to get bombed every day, but I've since changed my parking spot at work (away from the telephone poles) and only rarely get hit now. *knocks on wood... then throws bird seed at the other end of the lot*

for even thinking about taking it through a car wash. I try to wash it about once a week, by hand, throughout the year.

I wash mine every week to two weeks in the summer. During the winter (and I mean winter here in Montreal), I have it washed every other week since I can let it dry in the indoor parking at work.

Of course, since my car is ASM, a little bit of dirt doesn't show that much!

Time for a nice detail/wax job in the spring!!!

this might be a dumb question, but is it normal for the sheepskin mitt to change color even though you wash it after washing the car? mine's all dirty and black despite washing it with some general cleaning agent.
