How long you gonna keep your TSX?

How long you gonna keep your TSX?
Not sure I have seen this one yet, but how long are you gonna hang on to your TSX (for current owners)?
My guess is I will likely jump ship around 4 years out, most likely for the next gen TSX or maybe whatever the TL is at that time.
What about you other folks?

The current plan is that I'm going to keep the car for the first 2 years of the lease and then hand it off to my brother and then I'm gonna either get another TSX or a slightly used S2000. It all kinda depends on where I am. If I'm on the East Coast, then the TSX is definitely going to get replaced with another one with a 6MT. If I stay in SoCal, then S2000 here I come.

Maybe a year or year and a half...I have only had one car for 2 yrs or longer and that is my Civic, which I am in the process of selling. Then I will make the step to European manufactured cars (Porsche) on my quest to Ferrari....

Looking to sell it here within the next couple of months.
The intent was to keep it for up to seven years, but the new job will provide a company car. At that point I cannot justify to myself the added insurance and car payments when I have a vehicle that I can use for personal business for around $40/mo average.
That said, I'll miss it and am looking to replace it with a cheaper alternative. A prelude, older 300ZX, etc. come to mind that have a fun "driving" car.

probably 5-6 years, she will be paid off in 4 or sooner, so I will keep her around for a year or two and be happy to not be making any payments! Can't wait to see what her replacement will be

I am thinking about selling my TSX next year or so and get G35 or something with RWD. Possibly, if something nice comes out I'll trade it in for that....though I hope they redesign the G35's dashboard then I would really consider that one.

I keep telling myself Ill keep a car for more than a couple of years, but I never do it. Come on, I work in the car business. It's addictive. I thought the S2000 would be the car I'd keep for a while and I only kept it for a year.

If I were to buy a tsx... i would run into the ground. My current daily driver is my 94 GSR (bought it new in 94). I have to say that after paying it off in 3 years time, not having a car payment feels real good. I too thought my S2K was going to be keep for a long time, especially since I only drove it on the weekends.

Jury's still out on this one. So far, so good, but if I have any of the more serious problems described on the board, the puppy's going back to the pound.
I realize everyone (even Honda and Toyota!) produces an occasional lemon. Problem with the internet is that everybody soon knows all about everybody else's problems!
In the past, I've usually waited at least 8-10 years and at least 100,000 miles before buying a new car. So we'll see.

Bob - What specific problems are you referring to? The moving driver's seat and/or rattles? I dont know of anything bigger than that. I have only about 1K on mine but the tone of your response has me a bit scared...

I added the "Not Sure" option to the poll because I really have no idea. I could keep it for 10 years or get the itch to trade it in within 2 or 3 years which I suspect might happen.
Its in the air at this point.

No, I'm thinking of stuff like the blown transistor in the console that requires replacing the entire assembly, (with the part back-ordered) the 1 or 2 TSXs that seem to be oil burners, the melted transmissions and the burned out clutches (the latter are two problems that Honda/Acura seems to be dismissing responsibility for). Stuff like that. Admittedly I don't know the stats on this - number of failures vs.number of TSXs - Honda surely does because they know how many replacement parts they're shipping to NA, but all the posts here worry me.
Our two newest cars are both Honda products. For the first time EVER when we filled out the Consumer Reports annual survey this year we had NO problems to report with either car. I HOPE this is all an internet-inspired automotive Munchausen's Syndrome. Or maybe it's real. I don't know.

10 yrs or 240,000 kms - whichever comes first (check my signature). Sure I'll get bored of this one in 3 years or less, but once this one's paid off I'll feed my hunger with a tasty S2000. Damn, I'm still regretting not getting a Type-R 'Teg for the track ...
Hey Devo and Kurt, why did you part with your S2000's?
