Wow, upon further investigation, you're right! The injectors actualy shut off completely under engine braking.

So you're actually using less gas if you're engine braking than if you were coasting in neutral. Cool!

BTW, where did you confirm this? It's only something that I've been told but never recall seeing it in writing.

In my S, I recently was driving on a back road and had to turn the ignition off (to fix a radio problem, don't ask), and when I turned the key back over, I didn't have to use the starter to restart the car. I figure because it was using no fuel before it was turned off, it kept running after I disengaged and then re-engaged the electrical system.

LOL I knew I wasn't the only one. its a bad habbit i need to have my hand on the control knob because I feel like I am able to give the car more power when i'm using ss
